Default What song(s) would you want at your funeral?

I know this isn't the most fun subject, but I was wondering what songs the people on this board would want played at their funeral.
The two songs I would have played are "Forever Young" by Alphaville, and "Paradise City" by Guns 'N Roses. Those 2 songs make me think of going to a better place, and besides the line "Who wants to live forever" from Forever Young is pretty much the philosohpy a live by, because I don't intend to see 80, especially if it means taking pills to survive and not being able to walk.

Never given it any thought because there is no song that really defines me.

Probably "When Doves Cry" by Prince. I find that song to be very deep with a lot of metaphors that I can identify with on an esoteric level.

"Dig if U will the picture
    Of U & I engaged in a kiss.
The sweat of the body covers me.
Can U my darling, can U picture this?

Dream if U can, a courtyard,
an ocean of violets in bloom.
    Animals strike curious poses,
they feel the heat, the heat between me & U.

How could U just leave me standing
alone in a world that's so cold?
    Maybe I'm just 2 demanding
Maybe I'm just like my father, 2 bold.
Maybe U're just like my mother,
    she's never satisified.
Y do we scream at each other?
This is what it sound like
    when doves cry."

I don't think it's creepy at all. I'd like to have an almost completely musical funeral. Certain songs just resonate with me, and they express the personality characteristics that I would most like people to remember about me.

    Inaudible Melodies - Jack Johnson

Imagine - Blues Traveler cover of Lennon

Give Peace a Chance - Lennon

Box of Rain - Grateful Dead

I Am Ready - Counting Crows

The World's Not Falling Apart - Dar Williams

By My Side - Ben Harper

Teach Your Children Well - Crosby Stills and Nash

    Thank You - Dido

    Slow Train - Dylan

    Seven Bridges Road - Eagles

    Landslide - Fleetwood Mac

Didn't Cha Know - Erykah Badu

    Fee - Phish

    Beautiful People - Rusted Root

Do You Realize - Flaming Lips

    Rockabye - Ani DiFranco

Wow, these are some good songs. I should make a playlist of them. It pretty much encompasses my (very wide) musical tastes, eh??

I want that really lively circus music, I think it would be funny. I'd like a bad taste funeral seriously! Unfortunatly I don't know the name of the tune I'm thinking of, I searched once and found a heap of circus and clown music I'd never heard before, lol.

    ''Prayer for the dying''-Seal
    Fearless people,
    Careless needle.
    Harsh words spoken,
    And lives are broken.
    Forceful ageing,
    Help me I'm fading.
    Heaven's waiting,
    It's time to move on.
    Crossing that bridge,
    With lessons I've learned.
    Playing with fire,
    And not getting burned.
I may not know what you're going through.
    But time is the space,
    Between me and you.
Life carries on... it goes on.
    Just say die,
    And that would be pessimistic.
    In your mind,
    We can walk across water.
    Please don't cry,
It's just a prayer for the dying.
I just don't know what's got into me.
    Been crossin' that bridge,
    With lessons I've learned.
    Playing with fire,
    And not getting burned.
I may not know what you're going through,
    But time is the space,
    Between me and you.
There is a light through that window
Hold on say yes, while people say no
    Life carries on
    Ohh!
It goes on....oh-ee-oh, whoa-ee-oh ho oh...
    I'm crossing that bridge,
    With lessons I've learned....
    I'm playing with fire,
    And not getting burned....
I may not know what you're going through.
    But time is the space,
    Between me and you.
There is a light through that window.
Hold on say yes, while people say no
Cause life carries on....oh-ee-oh, whoa-ee-oh ho on...
    It goes on....oh-ee-on,
    It goes on.
    Whoa.
    Whoa.
    Life carries on.
    When nothing else matters.
    When nothing else matters.
I just don't know what's got into me.
It's just a prayer for the dying.
    For the dying.

    ''Otherside''-Red hot chili peppers
How long how long will I slide
    Separate my side I don’t
    I don’t believe it’s bad
    Slit my throat
    It’s all I ever

I heard your voice through a photograph
I thought it up it brought up the past
Once you know you can never go back
I’ve got to take it on the otherside

Centuries are what it meant to me
A cemetery where I marry the sea
Stranger things could never change my mind
I’ve got to take it on the otherside
    Take it on the otherside
    Take it on
    Take it on

Pour my life into a paper cup
The ashtray’s full and I’m spillin’ my guts
She wants to know am I still a slut
I’ve got to take it on the otherside

Scarlet starlet and she’s in my bed
A candidate for my soul mate bled
Push the trigger and pull the thread
I’ve got to take it on the otherside
    Take it on the otherside
    Take it on
    Take it on

Turn me on take me for a hard ride
Burn me out leave me on the otherside
I yell and tell it that
    It’s not my friend
I tear it down I tear it down
    And then it’s born again

    How long I don’t believe it’s bad
    Slit my throat
    It’s all I ever
    ''Mystify''-INXS

    All veils and misty

    Streets of blue

    Almond looks

    That chill divine

    Some silken moment

    Goes on forever

And we're leaving broken hearts behind

    Mystify

    Mystify me

    Mystify

    Mystify me

    I need perfection

    Some twisted selection

    That tangles me

    To keep me alive

    In all that exists

    None have your beauty

    I see your face

    I will survive

    Eternally wild with the power

To make every moment come alive

All those stars that shine upon you

    Will kiss you every night

    All veils and misty

    Streets of blue

    Almond looks

    That chill divine

    Some silken moment

    Goes on forever

    And we're leaving

Yeah we're leaving broken hearts behind

You're eternally wild with the power

To make every moment come alive

All those stars that shine upon you

And they'll kiss you every night

Actually, this is something I recently did when I made out my will (yes, I have a will now and I put this very thing in it!)

First of all, when I go, its gonna be a party.. champagne and everything in between.. that's what I want.. and here's my list in no particuliar order:

Billie Holiday- They can't take that away from me
    The Beatles- In my life
John Lee Hooker- Boom Boom Boom
    Aeromsith- Dream On
Eric Clapton- If I could change the world

And just to piss my mom off one last time: Highway to Hell

But seriously, all of the above songs have a special meaning in some way or another to me, and those who know me, know why.
