    Default Scared to travel!!

Ok, I really want to travel to other clubs but I'm too scared to go alone! I have never rented a car, not to mention staying anywhere for more than 2 days on my own. I hate the idea of paying over $100 for a hotel room and staying in it for a week or more. What do you all do when you travel? I don't have anyone to go with me, so that's out. I have a daughter, so I don't want to be gone more than 2 weeks at a time. I also don't know the best credit card company (I have a bankruptsy discharged 3 years ago). I need a credit card for renting a car and for hotels. Someone please give me LOTS of info.! I don't have my daughter all of Dec. and want to use that time to go somewhere to work! PM me if you want too. All advice helps. Thanks!!
Oh- I hate cold weather, so snow is out!

Some clubs might offer accomodations so you wouldn't have to pay too much for the hotel ! For the credit card I suggest to call your bank and ask them what to do !

I have only travelled within Australia and fairly limited travelling at that. I don't have a credit card and I don't drive. I use public transport (but I have always worked in places where I feel it's safe enough to do so...) or stay in backpackers or motels close enough to walk to and from work. I found the backpacker places worked out well. They're so cheap! In off season I had a room to myself or with just 1 other person. Even when it was busy, buy the time I had gotten back from working, (after 6am) most other people were getting up for the day and going out doing touristy things so I got to sleep peacefully!
I found it helpful to check out the accomadation online beforehand and to check out online mads too so you can see how close the accom is to the club or transport etc. Same with transport too - timetables and stuff should be on-line. It might be more feasable to consider travelling from work by cab rather than renting a car. Dunno though, things might be much different in the U.S!

You don't have to pay $100 a night for a hotel room unless you're going to NYC or similar. In most cities you can get rooms for much more reasonable rates. Just have to do your research. This site is a good place to start for ideas on where to stay near good clubs.

What areas/cities are you interested in? I might suggest New Orleans for winter work, there's usually decent money potential and it's not so cold and never snows. Check , look up the convention calendar for a list of conventions and how many people they're bringing to town during Dec. Plan your travel around good convention dates. A good week in New Orleans can be VERY good. Also if you go there you can stay in places near enough to the club where you won't need to rent a car (and in nola during busy season you probably won't WANT the burden of a car, especially if you've never travelled).

If you have reasonable credit NOW, as in no outstanding unpaid bills, you should be able to get a credit card. Do some searches and see what you turn up. But don't just apply to the first one you see or to every one you see. That can actually do more damage to your credit report than it's worth. Look around for good rates as well as easy approval. Be aware though, that a 'easy approval' credit card will charge higher interest rates. WAY high. And of course, you can get a secured credit card which is based on a savings account you open with the issuing bank, and your credit limit will be equal to the amount you put into the savings account. Crapital One does this as well as others. I would recommend though, that you consider very carefully your ability and TENDENCY to pay the bills before getting a credit card. You don't need another bad rating on top of a bankruptcy to continue the bad credit kakastorm - if you ever want to buy a house you will need good credit.

I use my debit card off my bank account as it is accepted as Visa. That may solve the credit card problem.

As for no snow cities in Dec. ;that a bit more tough. Bridgette already suggested New Orleans which is a pretty good spot . You might also try FL, TX or even Las Vegas.
