Default How to get coworker to take your tip

Ok, one more post for today...

A new waitress just started about 2 weeks ago. She's pointed me to the spenders & directed customers my way, and I was really grateful but everytime I tried to tip her she'd venemently(sp?) refuse. She doesn't have a locker so I can't slip it in there.
Makes me kinda peeved that the folks I'm required to tip act like jerks!

Oh and on Friday, I was about to leave but my friend couldn't walk me out...So I asked a night bouncer & he says, "Oh dayshift doesn't *need* to be walked out"..WTF? Yea, like there is less chance I will be attacked in a dark parking lot at 9pm as there is at 2pm? Was it asking too much of him to be a decent human being, making sure a stranger doesn't get killed? I'm starting to believe men only want to f*ck you or else have nothing to do with you.

It sounds like you work with a bunch of ass clowns. You should just force the tip on her, give it to her and run away.

Wtf is with your bouncer? Night/day he is SUPPOSED to walk you to your car. That's how it is here, anyway. It could only be one parked car outside, and he'd still walk me out. Definitely make sure someone walks you out, Please. Women get raped/killed/hurt in the daytime too, Idiot.

I'd just give her the tip and leave before she has time to say No, lol.

Re: waitress who won't accept a tip - Has she told you why she wouldn't accept it? I wouldn't think it's a case where she isn't allowed, but if you haven't asked you might do so and then you won't have to bother with it, one way or another.

Re: bouncers - It's not a matter of "needing" to be walked out; it should be common courtesy for the bouncers or a manager or at least someone who works in the club to walk the dancers out. Like anyone outside of the industry can peg a "day shift" vs. "night shift" girl anyways! Sheesh.

I would ask her like Oceans said and if she gives youi a lame answer then just drop the tip on her tray( assuming she has one) and walk away. I would try to be as cool with her as possible since she is sending good customers your way.

The bouncer sounds like a complete ass. Is there another bouncer at your club to walk you to your car ?

Strange, considering how little waitresses make in comparison to dancers most of the time, she should have taken it. Maybe she did think she wasn't allowed?

As for the bouncer, what a fucking dickhead. You would think protecting dancers would be a fun part of their job, letting them act like a hero.

No kidding ! Yikes, I mean that just isn't safe. PLEASE DON'T LEAVE THE CLUB ALONE. Complain to the manager if you have to--As for the waitress if she doesn't want your tip, keep your money and just start saying thanks when she helps you. Her loss , you tried.

well. are you tipping her sufficiently? eh, i don't know. Some people expect more then a couple bucks for a couple hundred earned i have come to realize.

On the other hand.. she may be one of the very few at your club with their hands not open..

ah, that was mean, but the truth (or so i experienced)

As for the bouncer, he has NO EXCUSE!!! wow, how rude.

Force the tip on her, but make sure it's a good tip if you do that.
Complain about the bouncer if he refuses again after you ask nicely.

Maybe the waitress feels bad to take your money you earned .I am kind of like that, but not a waitress.I always like to be offered, but like to do things for other people to be nice that I like.maybe she doesnt think she deserves a tip ,like its no big deal.Maybe she likes you better than your other dancer coworkers and would rather see you get the money and maybe makes enough money and doesnt really matter and would rather just get money doing her waitressing not sending guys your way and just wants tips from the guys.

Since the waitress is new, I'd wager she just doesn't know how to accept your tip. I used to be like that- uncomfortable about taking money from anyone, even if it was deserved (or owed!). I'm obviously over that now

I'd suggest you give her the tip, explaining that it's because she helped you make money and thanking her sincerely with a hand on the shoulder and good eye contact. Put it in an envelope, that might make her more comfortable. She'll love you and will ALWAYS have a soft spot for you (and will therefore send more customers your way!)

Yeah the bartender(Who was busy & couldnt leave his post) even said "Come on dude don't be an a-hole", lol
I always walk out with either a group of dancers or the buff barback, but he left early.
Definitely I want to tip her like $100 tomorrow, keep the good vibes goin'.(Considering what little there are in my club lol)

Damn, I work for a resteraunt and the bussers walk us to our cars when we leave at midnight! Was a dildo that bouncer was to refuse you like that!

You know, about that waitress, if you have tried to tip her and she refuses, perhaps you should just respect that. In an industry where everyone will take every dollar offered for any reason at all, if she isn't taking your money she must really feel that it's not deserved or warranted. You tried and tried, she said no thanks, so the guilts off you. More money for your pocket book.
