Default leaving with a "customer"... but not really

Ok, so today I'm leaving work and I'm in the car and I'm like oh shit I forgot to tip the DJ out. So I run up the two flights of stairs to the entrance, tip the dj, and then leave. So I'm leaving and this jerk door guy/bouncer who DOESN"T walk girls out to the car is like "if you leave with a customer you will be fined. Don't let it happen again." I'm like um....ok whatever I didn't leave with a customer. This guy is a friend of mine who came to pick me up, and also a friend of pretty much every one in management including the owner. When he came to pick me up (showed up after hours) he said hi to one of the mgr's then left with me. Escorting me to his car cuz well NO ONE else will - weather it's mine or not. grrr it just pissed me off so much like wtf. AND he said it loud enough to make me sound like a total whore infront of other dancers etc at my club. I'm new to this club and i really dont need any greif from the other girls.

Given my history, I am a firm believer in the buddy system and when fat mr. lazy ass door guy will not walk down the stairs to walk me to my car, why is it such a problem if I get a male friend to pick me up.

Sorry about rant. I needed to vent.

Trust me w - I will never tip YOU out again.

This guy I knew from like three years ago came to my club. Anyway after talking to him for a bit he said he would come back later and drive me home and we could catch up then. The bouncers were all over it when he came back later to get me. They wouldn't let me leave with him and I had to go plead with the manager telling him that I actually knew the guy. This was my third night ever and all the bouncers keep they're eye on me now. I suppose it's not a bad thing, but still...
BTW, even though it's the principal of the thing, offer your bouncer a buck or two to walk you. Better to have an unwilling walker than not one at all....

When my SO was going to pick me up, I let the manager know that Scorpio was going to pick me up in a Silver VW Passat. They would know it was him if there was a baby seat in the back seat.

If you tell them in advance the name of the person and the car that they are driving, then they won't give you a hard time when you're leaving.

Alot of the clubs I've worked had a pick up log- when the dancer arrives she signs in and puts down how she will be leaving at the end of the shift.

If a friend or bf etc is supposed to pick her up she puts his/her name and the type and color of the car. If a dancer drove herself, we'd put self and our car or cab.

No one was allowed to leave in any other manner than was listed at the beginning of the shift, except if they were drunk then they would be forced to take a cab.

We all had to valet park to keep drunk girls from driving and to limit anyone who might try to leave early without the club knowing. We were always walked to our cars , which were often pulled up one by one valet style.

I always thought it was a smart and safe policy for both the club and the dancers.

    Venus is right.

Let the managers/bouncers know who will be picking you up, It'll go a lot easier that way. For them, They probably assumed he was a customer....

There definitely must be a "buddy system" as Jillian pointed out, whether it's a staff member of the club, friends/SOs, or trusted/known customers. I'd sometimes be asked to walk girls around the corner or across the street to their cars (in line of sight from the front door) if a bouncer wasn't available, or just to have an equal number of males & females in a group heading out, or if I were in fact the designated driver.

I can't believe how callous some managers and bouncers can be. It's not like we PLs...er, customers...are there to see them! Without the ladies, there is no club.

See my club doesn't have the going home log or anything like that Tha'ts a really good idea. I just think that was totally out of line what that bouncer did. He could have pulled me aside and said something. I guess from now on I'll make a point to let everyone and their mother know who I'm leaving with.

Last time a bartender tried to yell at one of the girls who hired in with me, the girl went down to the locker room and was mad and said she was leaving right then to a mgr. The mgr was like no the bartender is definitly wrong and out of line and went up stairs and fired her on the spot. The management is cool and values their dancers very much. (When hiring me in they kept stressing that they make it as easy as possible to keep us dancers happy and making money, because if we're happy, everyone's happy and the club will make money that way) So...I think if the bouncer - W. - behaves like this again I will for sure alert management and let them deal with him.
