    Default Pissy Dancers

I have been a dancer for four years, and lately the club that I work at has become a total nightmare. Almost all the dancers are pissed off and management doesn't seem to care. The customer volume has gone down considerablely. I know as well as the next veteran dancer that know one wants to see a pissy entertainer. The girls are pissed because one DJ has seemed to take over the club, he doesn't have a clue as to what he's doing and he doesn't care that he is hurting our money. I'm annoyed that our management even listens to this guy.

Sorry you have to deal with that.... I guess, short of quitting, you'll just have to wait for things to get better again. If it goes down, it'll come back up. Managers don't always realize that dancers are the reason customers come in, so it takes a while for them to listen to what we have to say.. good luck!

Make some suggestions to your managers in a serious, non whiny manner. If you do it, do so in your street clothes and ask to have a few minutes of private time in the office. This will convey that you are serious and that you have spent some time thinking about it. Even if they don't take your advice, it will be noted that you have some input about your work environment. My club managers would definately grant me some time to have my say and if yours don't perhaps you should work elsewhere.

Thanks for the suggestions, yes I've been at the same place for four years. It's the only place in town that has, (well for lack of a better way to put it) class. Ownership is extreamly no nonsence when it comes to ABC violations and drugs inside his clubs. So over all it's the best place to work, but this DJ has put no thought into how his suggestions and changes affect the dancers and him in the long run because we pay him the club doesn't.

I think Piper's advice is pretty good, don't whine, but ask their advice about the situation, that way they'll feel like they are still in control.

The DJ is revamping the music that we can dance to, and changing the lighting to where we are practically dancing in sun light. Usually we can pick our music and it used to be an even blend from classic to new school but now it's mostly dance music something the older custumers just don't get into. I think most of you dancers would agree with me that sometimes we have fat days, and sometimes we get a zit in a not so great places, and then there are those unsightly ingrown hairs that makeup just doesn't always cover up due to things like sweat and lapdances. The lighting helps to hide things like that, and I don't know about you but it makes me feel better to be in darker lights on those days when I feel like a hippo.
