Default I'm scared to leave the comfy pole!!

Even though I do tend to hang on the pole throughout my set, I'm by no means boring with it. I do pole tricks and I keep it entertaining.

BUT- I'm auditioning at a new club this wednesday that doesn't have a pole!! I know very well what to do without the pole, so this isn't a 'how to dance' thread...

I'm just nervous because half the moves and tricks in my arsenal depend on the pole.

I am a comfort seeker. I need encouragement!! I'm scared!!!

I worked at a club with no pole, and they had these wooden pillars in the middle of the stage and i would hang on them, not literally, but hug them for comfort. work on floor work you could come up with some cool stuff!trust me.

    In the words of Titus...

    "dont be a wussy!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Your gonna rock the friggin house!!!!!!!

You already know what to do as far as a floor show, you already know what moves make you money, now string them all together without a pole.

Your only problem is going to be guys tossing their wallets on stage.

Just calmly remove all the money, check for the color of their plastic, then return the wallets to thier rightfull owners.

    Best of luck!

I worked at a club that had no pole....it lasted 3 days...... My knees ached, my attitude sucked, and to top it off they had these stupid tv screens behind you. I need the pole, but that's just me. Dancing gets too redundant if you can't spice it up with a few pole tricks. Good luck. I hope it works out for you better than it did me.

ah this must be a high end club then- my favorite !!!

I wouldn't worry too much- as long as you are fit most managers ( and customers) could care less if you can really dance. The fact that you have experience and can work a pole leads me to believe you have nothing to worry about but here's some small moves that might make you feel a bit more confident.

The "model" walk- exagerate the cross of one leg over the other as you walk. This make your legs look longer and gives an automatic sexy hip thrust.

A simple ( but small) grapevine step - ie back, side, front -- then turn it.

Small 1/4 turns on one foot- This looks great with a long flowing gown or even robe set held up by one hand - Just turn in the direction of your standing leg and push off with the other foot ( to the beat ofcourse) to turn you .

Try these in your heels and personalize with some small arms untill you feel comfy and add to your seductive poses that I'm sure you already do

These should make you look very classy as well as sexy- which is perfect for an upscale enviroment.

As we say in the theatre- break a leg !

Just sway around and be cute, and think about all the money you will be making once you get off the stage! I know stage performance is a big part of dancing to a lot of women, but it is not nessessary to make money.
Screw the stage!!! You will do great without it!!
    Good luck!

I just auditioned at a place that doesn't have a pole either. Thank god we can do floor work. Still, I saw a whole lot of bad dancing tonight-a lot of it mine! I did a lot of playing with my dress and head tossing. Heh. For some reason, they hired me anyway.

I'm a fan of the pole-makes the whole thing seem more like a work out, you know?
