    Default Your "Feel Good" Music

NO RHI - this is not "about" music...it's about moods...so don't touch it, dammit!

What music (either songs or groups) do you gravitate to when you're in a crappy mood...or perhaps a group or song that when you hear it on the radio, you just can't help but get excited that it's on and you'll listen to it no matter how many times you've heard it?

For me....it's the Beatles. I never...ever...turn away from a Beatles tune.

    Respect mah authoritahhhh! Heh

Anyhoo, I'll answer the question I suppose. When I'm in a really really foul mood, it has to be something really fast and in-yo-face. I can't think of anything off the top of my head right now, but Godsmack's "Whatever" and "Go Away" come to mind.

Sad... Blues music. I remember it being very healing for me whenever I go thru grief and/or am sad.

Angry... Heavy Metal, Rock... The Crow Soundtrack usually is a good one for me.

General Feel Good music... anything from the 90s

Want me to be happy? Anything by The Prodigy (except a couple of their songs I pretty much like 90% of their music). Cream as well as Get Off by Prince (from his Prince and The NPG "album").

Those songs ALWAYS make me perk up no matter what... I can't be angry, sad or whatever else except happy when I hear them. I associate good memories with The Prodigy music whereas I just plain like the other two songs by Prince..... especially if they are played on stage (at work)

Metallica's St. Anger covers most of my moods.

Love your Cartman, Rhiannon! I actually have a wav file of him saying that that I play to amuse myself.

Christmas music is my mood changer... if I want to get out of a funk, then out come the Xmas CDs. Or Duran Duran (hanging my head in shame) Yes, I know they are 80's cheese, but they make me dance, and I just can't stay sad when I hear them.

When I'm pissed or otherwise in an aggressive disposition, Slayer fits the bill.

When I've been kicked in the balls yet again by a woman, and I'm not ready to be pissed (or I'm past being pissed), I like Sting.

When I'm on the road and in a hurry, we go back to Slayer.

When I'm reading at length, I loop Tori Amos or Enya albums.

When I'm prepping for a date, yes, you guessed it...Slayer.

And it doesn't seem to matter where or when I hear it, but anything from Led Zeppelin or Black Sabbath always makes me nostalgic of my youth, and I feel compelled to listen out of respect for the gods.

I have to be honest my feel good music, as when i need to chill is Queen!

My feel good music as in sex, would be Chris Cornell, or anything Nickle back, and Linkin Park.

LOL, I used to listen to Linkin Park at top volume on my way into work on Sunday mornings to get me up and ready to deal.

Son of a Preacher Man, Dusty Springfield

    Billy-Ray was a Preacher's son,
And when his daddy would visit he'd come along,
When they gathered round and started talking,
That's when Billy would take me walking,
Through the back yard we'd go walking,
Then he'd look into my eyes,
    Lord knows to my suprise:

The only one who could ever reach me,
Was the son of a preacher man,
The only boy who could ever teach me,
Was the son of a preacher man,
Yes he was, he was, oh yes he was.

    Being good isn't always easy,
No matter how hard I tried,
When he started sweet talking to me,
he'd come tell me everything is alright,
he'd kiss and tell me everything is alright,
Can I get away again tonight?.

The only one who could ever reach me,
Was the son of a preacher man,
The only boy who could ever teach me,
Was the son of a preacher man,
Yes he was, he was, oh yes he was.

    How well I remember,
The look that was in his eyes,
Stealing kisses from me on the sly,
    Taking time to make time,
Telling me that he's all mine,
    Learning from each others knowing,
Looking to see how much we'd grown.

The only one who could ever reach me,
Was the son of a preacher man,
The only boy who could ever teach me,
Was the son of a preacher man,
Yes he was, he was, oh yes he was.

    My favorite song...

I remember these Sunday mornings, and they were rough, Miette. I listed to Linkin Park often as well, to psych myself up for the fuckin' bastids. It's hard to deal with ANYONE at 6:45 AM on a Sunday.
