    Default seeing someone you know....

Im considering a club in the next town over, topless only but still the only place around locally. My chances of someone i know seeing me are very high, which I'm kind of flip flopping on whether its ok for me or not. How do you handle it?Is that an issue? I dont want to be known as slutty or get a bad rep. thats not what I'm about. Has this happened to anyone?

Honestly, if you are worried about your reputation, you should reconsider your decision to start in the business. Maybe you should start out as a waitress, hostess, or door girl to feel out the environment and get everyone around you used to the fact that you are working in the business. Then you can also see how the girls work with the customers, as well as meet the regulars whom will have been waiting for you to take your clothes off...

It's a small, small world and odds are you're going to see someone you know. GLamazon is right, you need to consider if it's worth the risk and if you care what other people think (that you're slutty etc). It's never been an issue to me, the important people in my life know me and don't defien me by my job or what ome people think comes with the job title.

i have though about this in my area and bounced it off people not in the business and they have made a eally good point... Not to offend anyone, but the people who come into the clubs are people who want to see girls. only a hypocrite ould talk bad about you for being one of thoose girls. Alot of people don't even tell anyone (i.e. their wives) where they are going anyway. so how would they explain seeing someone somewhere they weren't at. Follow me? Botttom line though. if you are not ok with it- don't do it.

    Hi Angel,

You may run into people that you know. For me this is NOT an option so i work far from home. However, when i worked in a local club, I changed into a completely different "character". Wig, make-up, color contacts...sometimes when i came in as me the girls would think I was a new girl or not speak to me until after I transformed...lol...for me this was fun. I love to dress up. Some people find it challenging to find wigs that look natural. Also some people might find the transformation tedious to do everytime you work. It is much easier to work at a club not so close to home unless you decide to waitress or bartender only. Some guys would love to talk about the girl they new that is a shhhhh stripper! Others may think it's cool or no big deal but there is no way to predict. Hope this helps!

It's GONNA happen. I was in school at ASU (a HUGE campus) and dancing in Phoenix.... quite a few miles away from campus, and guess what? Yep.... even a professor once.

Wanna hear the funny part? Only ONCE was I recognized! I kept a wig in the dressing room, and if I ever saw anyone who looked familiar (or if it was "college frat boy night"), I'd go do a quick change of hair and makeup and you'd NEVER know me.

Club lighting is dark and flattering, so even if someone recognized you it would be highly unlikely they would say anything about it. Plus if the club serves alcohol, they'll get too drunk to remember.

They'll most likely be as 'shy' about it as you are....Especially since they are in a strip club and all.

I think it is such a double standard that we get looked down on for WORKING there, but it's ok for them to be COMING in there. I have had a few people I knew from when I used to bartend come in and see me dance. They were all very polite about it, and didn't try to embarass me. Unfortunately though, it does happen so like the other girls said, get a wig or something so you won't be noticed so easily. The lighting really does help.

Yeah we have this awesome policy that if you see anyone you know you are allowed to duck outback in the make-up room until they can be moved or seated somewhere where you wont see them. I mean sure you are screwed if you are dancing when they come in...but if you spot them first. I mean its nice to have some kind of an escape...
The manager is so sweet about stuff like this, and she had it happen to her so she kind of gets it. Hoping this isnt going to have to be something I will use but whatever...
