Default Where to buy dancer clothes in NYC?

    Hi everyone,

I'll be visiting NYC next week, and would like to do some work-related shopping while I'm there. Can anyone recommend any stores that cater to dancers, or any adult stores that would have a good selection of clothes that would be suitable for a strip club. These don't have to necessarily be the long gowns worn in Manhattan clubs- short dresses and 2-piece outfits would also be OK.

Also, is there any area of the city akin to Hollywood Blvd. in LA, with several clothing stores for dancers next to one another? I'm from SoCal, so I'm kinda a wuss when it comes to cold weather. I'd really like to have a specific destination for shopping to avoid walking around randomly in the cold. Thanks!

Go to the Body Buisness section and search there.

Really - there have been threads about this before? Where?

You'd think NY would be better in the stripper clothes department but it's not. Go to West 8th Street. There are some there. One is called "L'Impasse." It's quite expensive but they have some very beautiful and unique gowns and mini-dresses.

Buying gowns in nyc at any manhattan store is usually expensive, $100 and up. I actually have a lady who makes and sells beautiful gowns and short dresses. She also custom makes dresses for me around $70-80 which also includes the g string which can be customized too! let me know and I will fwd her info.

Ok, I did another search and found the following link:

    http:///www.stripperweb.com/forum/sh...highlight=York

When I did my first search, I used New York dancer clothing as my key words and got no results, whereas New York yielded way too many results. People on SW sure love to talk about New York Clubs!

I'll visit the stores suggested on both threads, and hopefully will be able to find something cute. I've started to notice that all the girls in my club in LA have similar outfits, and I'd like to bring back something unique.

BTW, joeybadgirl, I would love to have a custom-made dress- I'm sure it must fit so much better than a store-bought gown! Unfortunately, I'll only be in town for about a week, so I don't think time will permit for me to have anything made. Does your woman work out of a store or club, or strictly out of her home?

L'Impasse is quite nice, but I went there to try on a few gowns and had to nearly shoehorn myself into them. And I'm a goddamn size 2.

They do have some short dresses there too. They are expensive, though well constructed for dancer clothes. They should last you. The place does custom work too.
