Default Aussie girls: where can i buy shoes/outfits/etc?

I'm located in Melbourne and i was wondering where i could purchase shoes, nice gowns/thongs/outfits preferrably from a store but an e-store would be fine too. Any recs?

I would really like to try out dressed appropriately sooner rather than later. The longer i put it off the more scared i become.

Hi there! I have been living and working in Melbourne for almost a year now, so I compiled a small list for you with a few of my fave places to find bits and pieces for work.

Keep in mind that I live in the St Kilda area, so the stores I mention are the ones closest to me. There heaps of shops in which you can find dance wear, but I'm a public transport girl, so these are my options.

Shoes: Risque on Chapel St (Moderately priced; where I get my shoes from. A nice rance of basics always in stock)
Shoe Craft on High St (rather expensive, even with a dancer's discount, but they have a very good range)
Yes Boutique on Chapel St (overpriced, but they stock some great trashy shoes that I haven't seen any where else. They also have a few cute costumes in the store, too)

Clothes and Lingerie: Condom Kingdom on Chapel St (reasonably priced, but they only have a small range in stock. How ever, you can order items directly out of the Leg Ave catalog and the shipping is very fast)
Bras N Things in the city (upstairs is a great range of Hustler, Leg Ave and Dream Girl lingerie, plus all sorts of fun and kinky things)
SexyLand Stores (as the name suggests, it's a sexy land! Lots of toys, costumes, lingerie and some shoes)
Club X Stores (most Club X bookshops will have a nice little range of costumes and lingerie at ok prices)

    Hope this helps!

hey im from the gold coast and i suggest you try ebay....after going into the shops up here and looking for costumes...then seeing them on ebay for over a hundred dollars cheaper..i strongly suggest it.

costumes form the foreplay etc catalogs in adult stores range from $150 - $250 but on ebay i get the same thing for $30.00 american dollars so including shipping its like $50 aust dollars and if i buy more than one outfit..most sellers combine shipping.

    good luck

also where are you currently working?? im thinking of coming down for the grand prix....wanted to work at goldfingers...let me know what its like (the grand prix)

If you are on the Gold Coast and have transport I can recommend two shops:

Secret Desire Adult Shop in Southport. Tell them Vanessa sent you there.

Foxy Babes Boutique in Burleigh. They have specials on shoes and outfits all the time.

ebay.com.au isn't as popular for stripping outfits as ebay.com yet both are worth a try. I know I sell various outfits on there every so often. I've got quite a few that I want to "be rid of" as I either have only worn them once or twice and that's it.

    I'm gcgirl1978 on ebay.com.au

Ahh you've been a fabulous help! I cant thank you enough.

I was considering Bar 20. I like the atmosphere and it seems to have a pretty good rep.

I went and had a peek at Bar 20 a few weeks ago, and it was absolutely packed! Had a quick look in the dance room and the girls looked busy... that's what you want to see

I have heard a few conflicting stories about the club (you know, 'Money is shit', 'Money is great', Management is shit', 'Management is great') but you will never really know 'till you give it a try yourself.

Good luck, and keep us posted!

I'm currently working at Kittens, Club X (The Crazy Horse) and had my first shift at Dallas Dancers last night. These clubs are certainly not considered upscale, but I have personally found them to be little gold mines in comparrison to the upscale clubs!

I have only been in Melbourne for 9 months; I started just after grand prix weekend, but I hear it's a fantastic time to work. The whole event brings a lot of tourists and money in general to the city, so any girl worth her stilettos should be able to make the most of it.

I have never been to Goldfingers myself, but I have heard a few dodgy stories about it. But, as I said, I haven't even been there let alone worked in the venue, so any thing I report can't be taken as gospel.

A few girls who have worked there say that they spent more on expenses (cotuming, grooming, etc) than they managed to earn. The club is very big on stage shows, and you really do need to be able to dance and perform.
Goldfingers also has Fantasy Nights, and hours of the shift in which you will need to change from regular dance wear to evening gowns. I have also been told that you need a different outfit for each stage set. So, don't pack light!

Various customers and dancers have also refered to Goldfingers as 'Sticky Fingers', but as to the truth behind that?

Any way, there are rumors about all clubs, so the best thing to do is try it for yourself

Any way, I hope that you come down and give it a go, the King St strip will be packed!

Oooh MarieKitten, i went to Dallas Dancers once as a customer when it was Kages on Kings and had a chat to one of the girls about dancing. She was very encouraging and nice. The place had a very friendly vibe but what turned me off was some of the patrons due to the fact they have a more lax dress code than Bar 20.

How are you finding it? It's a small club so would it be recommended for someone just starting out in the business?

About Bar 20: i too have heard conflicting stories also but my main motivation for trying them first is because i know two women that work there - one is a dancer and one works behind the bar and so i have quite a bit of information on the place (not as much as i'd like) and the two times i've been there as a customer it's been a really decent. Plus GoldCoastGirl gave a really thorough review of the place. Goldfingers would be a bit too much for me to start out. It seems a bit full on. It would be like jumping into the deep end to try and learn how to swim.

Last night was my second night at Dallas, and I'm really starting to like the place. I have made bank (plus some!) during both shifts, and hopefully tonight will be third time lucky

But I'm completely with you on the dress code; I have noticed customers in thongs, singlets, work clothes, etc. While I understand that money comes in all packages (and some of those packages just might be wearing stubbie shorts!), I fear stabing some one's toe with my stiletto, or getting grease transfered from their shirt to my outfit.

I have also noticed that there are a lot of younger guys that frequent the club. This can be some what annoying as they are reluctant to part with as little as $20, and you need to hustle like a dog to get it. I try to focus my energy on the older customers, but that can be hard when the place is packed full of 18-21yr olds.

And yes, I'd certainly reccomend Dallas as a place for a new dancer to start out. It's got a very relaxed atmosphere, lots of customers and enough rules to keep order, but not enough to freak you out and make you feel restricted. Plus, there is a lot of variation between the looks and ages of the dancers; Tattooed girls, barbie girls, goth girls, curvy girls, etc. I think that this makes things a bit eaiser, as not every girl is considered competition (as different men like different looks).

I have a friend who used to work behind the bar at Bar 20, too. She now dances at Kittens, but has mostly good things to say about the club. It's her who took me there to have a look around a few weeks ago. I think that they treat the bar staff quite well, there.

Have you applied to work there, yet?

    Hi,

I'm moving my Bikini label to Sydney in Feb.

Get in touch if you're interested - I mainly sell online, but i'll probably be heading to the clubs in Melbourne and Gold Coast in mid 2005.

    Please excuse the shameless self-promotion!

    Cheers,
    Minky X

    Thanks Tears,

I'll be re-opening my online store on Feb 14, once i'm sorted in Australia.

Do any of you sydney Girls know if the clubs allow designers to come in and sell clothes to the girls? I'll have a whole lotta stock with me when i arrive, and would like to check the clubs out.

    Hi Minky,

Will you have an actual store in Sydney or will it be an online one?

MarieKitten - can you tell me more about Kittens. I've heard that it is a touching club (similiar to what you can get here on Gold Coast)...... where is it located? Can you tell me anything about it at all ?

In re: Dallas Dancers.... please feel free to post a little review about it in my AROUND AUSTRALIA thread as well as in the Melbourne section of the CLUBS AND REVIEWS part of this website ( )

I've had to put it off for a bit because of holidays but i'm actually going to go there next week and see what happens. I also think i might check out Dallas Dancers as well. It's kind of nervewracking not knowing if they'll want me or not. I just need to relax and stop checking my ass out in the mirror before i shower because it's starting to provoke worry. Haha.

I'm not sure what i should wear there though. Oh well, i'll figure that out later.

MarieKitten if you get the time can you post a teeny weeny little review if possibly of Dallas Dancers. I'm really interested in what the price structure is whether it's the same as elsewhere and what the set up is like there. I can only vaguely remember.

    Hi Alpina / Julie

I'll be mainly selling through my website, but am planning to open a store within the next 12 months.
I'll also see about selling in the clubs, directly to the dancers - at discounted rates of course!
