So, as I posted earlier that I had lipo last week (Tues. the 30th) . I visited my Dr. yesterday to remove my stitches. I had my support bra on (for my BA) and the ace bandage type thing around my stomach. When I had originally gotten the lipo, he told me that the bra needed to stay on 24/7 for one month, and the bandage thing for 2 weeks, and the 12 hours a day for another two weeks. That sounded ok, and pretty normal advice. Right? I mean, through all my research that's what Dr's are supposed to say! Well, getting back to the original question... At the apt. yesterday he told me that while I still had to wear the bra, I no longer need the stomach garment.
Now, that seemed odd to me, so I was pretty persistent with him in making sure that he really meant I never had to wear it again. I asked why, when so many surgeons make you wear it 24/7 for a month. He told me that a lot of Dr's only do "so so" jobs, and then try and use compression to make the job look better. That the garment was only for swelling, and that I just didn't need it anymore.
This just seems weird to me! This is a GREAT Dr., I LOVE the job he did on me (see the pics in a latter post), but I just feel like he gave me the wrong advice.![]()
What do you all think?
