I want to start dancing in Atlanta and I have no idea where to begin. I am a light skin african american attractive female. Does anyone dance in Atlanta and can give me a little advice.

I am not scared just a little nervous. I don't know anyone else that dances.

i dance in atlanta. it's a lot of fun. they have several clubs. before you dance at a club, you need to get a permit. permits to dance in fulton county are $350. to dance in other counties is less ($250, i think?). the permit is good for one year and only at the club you are hired at.

    generally, here's how things work:
    * stage dancing. you dance on a stage (usually 3 songs). some clubs let you pick your own music. it is full nude (if they tip enough)
    * table dances. usually run at $10 per song. these are usually done on the floor (some clubs may have a separate section, but i havent seen any yet). they are what's called an 'air-dance'. you get close to the person, but no touching.
    * vip rooms. these are private rooms where a customer can enjoy a dancer's company. they can run anywhere from $150-$250/half hour (depending on the room fee and what the dancer charges)

more: you need to have a strip of pubic hair (by law), no grinding, no bending over more than a 45 degree angle when bottoms are off...fulton county has weird little laws like that. the club will let you know what's up. there are articles on here i recommend reading to help you decide if dancing is for you.

here a list of some clubs, too:
    * i wouldn't recommend starting out at a big club such as pink pony or the cheetah. these might be a bit too intimidating for a first timer. definitely worth looking at just to get a different perspective.
    * platinum 21. this is what's called a 'black club'. mostly black customers and dancers. i know someone who danced here and basically, if you look like something from a nelly video, you'll do ok. when i drive by it's packed at night. from what i hear girls do well there. it's a smaller club.
    * tattletales. located next to platinum 21. it's small. this is a nascar race fan kind of bar. when i went in, there were quite a few rednecks. it doesnt bother me, but figured i give the info. they have 2 stages. i had heard through rumor that they did away with their vip rooms (dont quote me on that). i'd say there's an 7-15 girls there during the week.
    * masters. this one is a mid-sized club. it has 3 stages & 12 vip rooms. this is a more upscale club. there's about 15-30 girls during the week.
    * 24k club. located behind a building, the outside doesnt look like much, but inside it's fairly big. i found the staff and dancers very friendly! theres anywhere from 5-20 girls a night. however, because of its location and the fact that the sign doesnt state its an exotic dance club, i dont think as many customers come in. mostly seems like a place known to locals.
    * doll house. smaller club. people here are REALLY nice! located next to masters. there are 2 stages & 3 vip rooms. there are anywhere from 10-20 girls a night. there's very much a mixed crowd here (both dancers and customers). i found this club to be really open to different types of people, styles and music.
    * clermont lounge. this is more or less a go-go bar. they have a stage located behind the bar. there are only table dances (no vips). this place is a total dive & i have a friend who works here. money isn't as good here as at other clubs, but it is a fun place. this is more of a hangout than a strip club. although, when i go out & am not at my club, i go to the clermont. where else can you see a black woman wearing a blonde wig crush beer cans with her boobs?

i recommend checking out various clubs, and seeing which one suits you best. most of the ones i listed are in the cheshire bridge area. when i look at clubs, i look for friendliness. if girls give me nasty looks when i walk in the door. i dont want to be there. if the doorman is rude to me, i don't bother. i've worked in clubs like this & i just didnt fit in. if you have any questions, drop me a line! break a leg!

You might also check out The Oasis as a great 'starter club'. It's located in the northern suburbs, it's somewhat upscale, but more importantly it's a much lower pressure situation than the upscale downtown clubs like Cheetah 3.

[QUOTE=toxicgirl] to dance in other counties is less ($250, i think?). the permit is good for one year and only at the club you are hired at.

The Dekalb Co. clubs (i.e Pink Pony and Oasis) are actually $200. This permit IS transferable.

The first club I worked at was Cheetah. I thought it was a GREAT club to start at b/c it's pretty much just a shoe show. VERY strict on dancing and no touching so that makes it LESS intimidating in my perspective.

The second club I worked at (and currently work at) is Oasis. This was a small leap from Cheetah (meaning girls dance a little more lewd here, so I was glad I started at Cheetah). There is still no touching.

Both clubs are great! Beautiful girls at both and they are all friendly (as far as I'm concerned). A lot of girls help each other out and even tip each other on stage when things get rough Hope this helps!

I agree that Oasis and Cheetah are great clubs. I prefer Cheetah personally.

Miamichick- I have some dancer friends who enjoy a more low key club and they like working at Boomers. It's not my kind of place per say but they make decent money and enjoy it so maybe check it out for comparission to other more upscale places. However just to add my two cents, you look just lovely in you avatar pic and based on that I would say Cheetah customers would be pleased to have you in the ranks .

I dance at the crazyhorse in forest park, I liked it a lot, its a smaller club and the staff was really cool and professional. Ive never worked for a female manager and it was a different experience all together. you have 2 wks to get ur license so no worries, just tell em ur passin through. their usually pretty understanding.
