hottest guitar solo...gotta agree with Big green...Vai was incredible in that movie
second hottest was Dave Murray from Iron Maiden bustin out The National Anthem back in 85
One more nomination:
August 26, 1990, in East Troy, Wisconsin. Playing in a concert the night of his death, Stevie Ray Vaughan awed the crowd and his fellow musicians with his masterful virtuosity and power. Some of his fellow musicians were no slouches: blues guitarist Buddy Guy, Robert Cray, and Eric Clapton.
As far as I know, no recording exists of the concert.
Later edit: Brain fart on Wisconsin versus Michigan. Corrected. Thank you, Sonic.

I know you like music trivia Big Ten.Did you know the guitar solo on Aerosmith-"Train Kept A Rollin" from the "Get Your Wings" album was actually done by Dick Wagner former guitarist for Alice Cooper, Lou Reed, etc.? And the live section of the song {the audience part }was taken from "The Concert For Bangla Dash" and edited in!Originally Posted by bigteninch
I have to check that out, I really like Alice Cooper except for the time he threw the empty pillowcase after dumping feathers into a strobe into my face... it musta hit at the black moment... Alice used to jam back in high school with a DJ I used hang out with in Tempe, he said they always jammed to "I'm a man" ironic huh? must have spawned an idea while singing those lyrics one of those times...Originally Posted by SonicBones
hey - thanks again SB, u amaz me - there are so many good ones to check out here, and that Steve Vai crossroads performance was pretty intense...
YW. I read the Aerosmith info. in their book "Walk This Way-The Autobiography Of ". My fave Alice Cooper albums are the early ones.I lost interest after "Billion $ Babies" Dick plays on that as well uncredited.I used to see Dick play all the time at Kenny's Castaway's in NYC.We became friendly. As for Steve Vai, "Speed ain't nothing with out class!" lol He's got the chops no doubt, but where's the feeling?Originally Posted by bigteninch

Pamela, you know what you're talking aboutOriginally Posted by Pamela
.Frampton was around for yrs in the band Humble Pie before he became such a huge solo star.He doesn't always get name checked because for many people they only "Saw" him. He was dismissed {unfairly}]because of his handsome looks. They didn't "Hear" him sadly. As for the sound you hear on "Do you feel" that is in fact all guitar. He uses what is called a Talk Box.It's a plastic tube that goes into a little box that the guitarist has in their mouth while playing. They can mouth, speak, make sounds from their mouth through their guitar with this.
