I just read the "Strange Dancing" thread and started thinking of all my foolish stage tactics. I've come a long way in my 7 years of dancing and get complimented profusely by the customers, but holy shit I AM CLUMSY!
1st week ever dancing, I sit on the drink rail w/ back to customers, try to wrap feet around posts and lean back, only to flip backwards onto my head and knees onto the floor.
Couple years ago, hanging upside down on pole when my shoe starts to slip off, I try to catch it, accidently loosening my thighs plunging headfirst into stage. (emergency room Dr.'s visit for that one)
Lean forward at a nude club holding drunkenly onto ceiling when I lift leg and fall straight into customer's lap. "Like your naked LD, buddy? Yeah, well put me back on stage!"
Do an upside down flip onto girl customer off stage,(her friends were begging for something "different" she clamps her legs 2gether, causing me to flail back and forth, eventually flipping off stage, thankfully landing straight up on feet!
And the ever so often, get off my barstool, start walking when my sweaty foot twists in shoe, and there I am, once again, picking myself up off of the floor! I'm sure I have numerous more, but that's enough for now! I just don't really care (or get embarrased) anymore!![]()

I eventually learned to just accept it and laugh. Who knows, maybe it will help your dancing... if you fall or trip then you are more human and more approachable than the 'perfect' ones.
