Default Need a new skincare range... any ideas?

    Hey guys,

So the seasons have changed and I need to change up my skincare routine. So far I am looking at the stuff at loganwood or at the Perricone site.... I have redness and occasional breakouts to deal with.

I like the Perricone idea because of the supplement packs... but I like the philosophy over at Loganwood.

Any thoughts, suggestions or otherwise would be great

Looks like I will have to answer myself

I am getting some samples sent from Noevir.. easy to do if anyone is interested... just have a look on the site.

Also looking into a brand called derma E they send out a sample pack for free, you just pay the postage www.dermae.net they have a nice range and a mircodermabarsion scrub that looks good. They have good reviews on the net also.

I was afraid to post because my answer might not be what you're looking for, but considering you travel, carry a few key manufactured products. Then use local available health food store/ grocery store products when you reach your destinations. I always have too much luggage, so I don't think I could take more than cleanser and moisturizer. But, I've discovered a lot of great products on the road. It's not much more costly than investing in a whole treatment system.

Ever heard of microdermabrasion? I tihnk that's how it's spelled... Anyway it exfoliates the skin without hurting, little micro beads shave off the dead skin and there is a cleanser involved....
I like it occasionally, but I LOVE Orginins...... Anything by them is great ,but the Make a difference line is amazing. It makes your skin feel brand new, takes only a little to cover the face, and it works on all types of skin.
Please don't lick me, it tickles..

I did have one microdermabrasion session done by an esthetician. She tried to sell me some products....but I was upset the session left me with peeling skin on my face....I try to be as gentle as possible. From now on I'll do apricot scrub at home. Also, Alpha Hydroxy Acids ("fruit acids" AHAs) have been accused of damaging skin...they were faddish several years back....I know some of the products the esthetician was pushing at me contained AHA. (AND my skin is ethnic/ oily- I would never encourage any girl, especially a Caucasian girl, to batter her skin. My best pal is white and her skin is very delicate. So, stay away from AHA!)
The most low cost skincare regimen is pretty simple- lots of water, salmon oil pills, NO smoking, moisturizer every day, vitamin/ mineral supplements, wear hats, shades, scarves outdoors to retain moisture in cold regions, stay out of sun in temperate regions.....
Origins makes great products, but they are expensive......the best skincare is in your dietary choices and little or no alcohol. (And absolutely NO drugs, of course ; P )
I apologize for my zeal in terms of skincare, but my work had paid off- I look five years younger than I am. That's priceless to me.

Some more suggestions, since I hate seeing people spend too much money on skincare products: witch hazel is sold in drugstores for a low price, and has less drying alcohol than name brand toners (I wonder why toners have to come in weird colors, like purple and yellow..???...Witch hazel is clear.)
When you buy lotion, read the ingredients label. Too much mineral oil means it's cheaper....not always good. Glycerin, cocoa butter and aloe vera are better ingredients.
Some women do cold cream to remove make-up (Pond's, etc.) but it seems to have gone out of style. If you have dry skin/ live in a cold dry climate, I can see how cream cleanser might work.
Most people need to use non-oil based facial moisturizers. Considering we wear more makeup than the average woman, non-oil moisturizer is the nicest thing you can do for your face ("let it breathe.") Bentonite Clay mixed with apple cider vinegar is a great pore cleaner, but might be too harsh for some skin types. Be advised.

I love your 'zeal' madmaxine and can relate... I usually stick to the natural products and like to keep my skin care pretty simple. However over the years I have come to see that for me personally, sometimes my skin just needs that little extra.

I still use lavendar oil on my spots and green clay for my masks. I love natural aloe vera as a toner. and chickpea flour makes a pretty good cleanser!

The brands I am looking at are fairly cheap and have natural ingredients and no animal testing policies. The brand I am using at the moment is avalon organics, they have a nice range http://www.avalonnaturalproducts.com...asp?brandid=19 and they might even get your vote maxine

WOW they are pretty resonably priced too!

I sent in the online questionnaire so lets see what they recommend......
