    Microdermabrasia(sp?), who has done it?

Who here has had this done, & how was the outcome for you? Big difference, was it worth the money? What was the purpose of you getting it done? Acne, fine lines, ect.? Also, how long did the red coloring last on you? Tanning, how long do you have to wait to tan again after getting it done? And most importantly how much does it cost?

I'm thinking of getting this done, hell...I have to. My skin is starting to look a little rough...as of late i'm breaking out like crazy & my pores look big.

Any info from you girls will be appreciately greatly, thanks.

I just did it. A photographer that I am working with paid for a great facial/ micro treatment. The Micro treatments are (or are for me at this spa) $50 a session plus tip. I am doing four sessions, once a week. The redness went away pretty quick and I was told not to tan or use make up that day. I didn't tan for several days afterwords.

I loved the results. It has taken out a scar that I got on my head from passing out at a metallica concert when I was thirteen. I love the way my pores look now too. I love the spa that I am going to though.

    I hope that helps.

Wow, $50.00 a session...that's great Ash. I thought it'd be something like a one time thing & also cost around $1,000 range or up. This lady told me she was going to do it bc she has really bad severe cysitic acne & that she was gonna have a red face for one month & possibly not go out for that period of time! She told me that her doc was gonna remove a whole layer of skin off.

A couple of months ago I did four sessions of a chemical peel treatment. That didn't do shit.

Really Vyanka! I am afriad of that stuff, but had one over the counter kit by Loreal. Did nothing. SO, here's me. I make my own shit, right. I too Mortons salt and some Johnsons Baby Shampoo, put both in my wet hand together, and scrubbed. I was pissed because my skin looked dull. NOW i have scratches and red marks all over my cheek areas! Great move....No shit. It hurts, needs to heal. Never again. And.....i know better.

OOO, Pamela! That was a lil' ruff, on the face, dear, (as you found). Sorry you got hurt, hun. I've heard J baby shampoo is not that gentle.
I would like to try one of the home products (NOT L'oreal). I've heard they don't do a lot, but am still looking into them. Not a lot of $ right now, for anything.
Btw, anyone try Vit. C prods.? I've heard Cellex-C is good. There's also "knockoff" brands. I had this shopping chanel skin care prod. called Alloette, it had powder Vit. C you mix w/ a seurm. I used it, my skin seemed to get brighter, but I'm very inconsistent w/stuff.

Ouch Pam, that sounds like brutal treatment. What are you putting on the scratches? Sorry about the skin.

So yeah, those chemical peels I got done were a waste of money. Don't even bother with it. I paid like $250.00 for four treatments & it did absolutely nada. The only thing good was that it felt good while they did it, lol.

Gosh i know ladies am i DUH or what? I want to try an over the counter product...So many. Loreal just made the skin soft. Forget it.

Right now i am putting on a light coat of Aquaphor healing ointment. It's good, does not sting but greasy, so i just go very very light, and i have to powder over it...YuK.

PS what about that new (i think it's new) Chemical peel Vit K i think over the counter, anyone try?

It's ok, i've done it too with those facial scrubs, lol. I haven't tried any of those over the counter peel products. I read somewhere on here that those weren't good.

I have microderm once a week and then after the next two sessions, I"m going to once a month. I love it.

I started doing it because of a birthday coming up...started freaking out about aging and my chin area was breaking out with HUGE deep pimples. The pimples were almost totally gone (just red spots) when she was done. My skin was a light shade of pink for a day but I liked the way it looked....rosy and fresh! My skin is super soft and just over all brighter.

My sessions are $97 each....luckily the girl I go to is a good friend so I get half off

Vy, if someone wants to charge you a grand...that's insane. THat doesn't sound like microderm...sounds like an intense chemical peel that surgeons do.

Oh I know, but the lady who told me who was getting it done said she was gonna pay around that much. But you should see her face, I'm guessing that's why? I feel so bad saying this, but her skin was really terrible. She had zits on her face, the size of a nickle & lots of deep scars. I felt bad, hopefully everything went well for her.

I had it done once at the spa where I get my facials. It costed me over $200 for that one time. It made my face look really nice though. The only thing I didn't like about it was that my skin was a little dry afterwards.

I feel so fortunate for the price I got for my Micro. lol

It was really worth it though. I really love the spa that I found.

No joke Ashley! If I had to pay the 97, I wouldn't be doing it. She charges me like 45 and then I just give her a big fat tip.

I had microdermabrasion on my back because it breaks out everytime I get in the tanning bed, she also did my face as some package deal. It didn't hurt on my back, but my face was much more sensitive- I didn't like it at all. Afterwards my face was all red and I got sunburned driving the 15 mins to my house. I ended up going home from work later that night because I had a splitting headache and just didn't feel well. I am not sure if it was from the microdermabrasion or what, but the next day my skin was ok. It felt smoother, you have to go back for it to make a noticeable difference, but once was enough for me.

Vyanka- maybe the girl meant that you were looking at around $1000 for the whole series of treatments??? If her skin was really bad it might take that many for her to see results? Who knows.
