    Smiley Dancing in Las Vegas

Hello again, I am just full of Q's tonight!! I live in the San Diego area. I understand that before you can perform here you need to get a license. If I wanted to perform in Vegas, would my San Diego CA Entertainment license be valid to use in Vegas? Do I even need a license in Vegas? Or would I have to apply for a license in Nevada? Are all the clubs in Vegas nude, or are there topless clubs too? I know this is a request for a lot of info but would love any info you may have..Thanks so much!

No,your SD licence will be out of the jurisdiction,so you cannot use it.It is not a universal license for the entire country.

Yes,you need a Sheriff's card and a separate business license. You need to go to Vegas to apply for both of these.

There are both topless and nude clubs in Vegas.

Sunshine as a customer, I don't recommend starting off dancing in Vegas. It seems every dancer from S. CA goes to Vegas to dance these days.

Lots of girls and not enough customers usually, tough competition.

In Vegas you need to have a sherriffs card and you are supposed to have a business liscence. Most clubs don't seem to care about the business liscence; but the sherriffs card is a must. They will not allow you to substitute a card from another state.
Out here, most money is made working in a topless club. From what I have heard from customers, the full nude clubs tend to have a lot of fatties who can't get a job in a nice topless club... Although there are a few exceptions. I thought that the dancers at the Can Can Room were very pretty. I don't think that they make much $$$ though. The only other full nude club I have been to is the Palimino, which is a super cool club; but the women there tend to be more of the full figure type (not fat). I have thought about applying there but I am more of a small frame.
A new trend that is starting out here is Burlesque clubs. I would love to do something like that but I think that you have to have professional dance experience. I know that forty deuce at the mandalay bay requires dancers to have professional jazz and ballet skills. I am so ready to sign up for some dance classes.
If you are new to exotic dancing, but you have some sales experience you might be able to do ok out here. If you have no sales experience and no experience working as an exotic dancer, you might be better off starting out in a club in CA before coming out here. It is very common for the dancers to outnumber the customers by 2:1 - 4:1 or more. This is not an easy place for a beginner.

Most people prefer to believe their leaders are just and fair even in the face of evidence to the contrary, because once a citizen acknowledges that the government under which they live is lying and corrupt, the citizen has to choose what he or she will do about it. - M Rivero

Thank you for the advice. I will most likely start out here in Southern Cali and after I get some experience, I will also go to Vegas and get a sheriff's card and license there. How much would a Vegas card/license cost, anyhow? I am in advertising/marketing, so I think I'd be able to sell well there ...hopefully!!!

Onlythebest, I'd like to ask you about a review you posted on a San Diego club called Dreamgirls, I think you made the post last May. I was just there the other day to check it out. Have you heard anything recently abou that place? Is it really sketchy with customers slipping downers in the dancers' drinks? Does that still go on? Is management still that terrible? I am so glad you posted that, I want to work in a club where safety is a priority. Do you know anything about a club called Pure Platinum?

Thanks to all of you for the advice..sorry if the Q's seem a little silly but hey I am still learning ---gotta know how deep the water is before ya jump in--thanks for your patience!

The management at Dream Girls does not look out for the safety of the dancers. You are basically dancing at your own risk there, well,it's that way in SD period. That is not a strip club town. It's a beach and shopping town. That's all.
