I'm not on the diet but I do take some supplements reccomended in the book (The Perrricone Perscription)- alpha lipoic acid, fish oil, dmae. I don't know how much they help. I had a bad skin week (3 pimples- I almost never break out and skin looked a bit older) last week from working more, not getting enough sleep, and drinking 4-5 alcholic drinks at work. And my skin looked the worst- most pimples at the end of the work week and looked better after 1-2 days off. I'm going to make the goal to drink less alchohol or at least wine instead of rum and coke and sleep more- I think not drinking and enough sleep are important for skin. sorry I got a bit off topic.

i wanted to buy that book. please let us know how it works out for you. i hope someone will have something to post about it.

I bought this book a while ago. I am getting ready to try the 3 day diet to see how it works. I just bought some blueberries today, I am going to have to get used to them. Everything else in the diet I like so it shouldnt be so bad. Did u go online to see how much the supplements cost? I havent done that yet. If u start soon let me know how it goes!!! I think I am going to try to start this week or next.

The supplement packet for the standard skin stuff is $65 per month!!! Its handy to have it all together but expensive. I just had a look at what it includes and am going to get the products elsewhere.
http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/now/now.htm is what I am looking at, I love the guys at this site and the prices on this product are very cheap compared to in the stores. They also have all the supps listed in the perricone program....
Here we go![]()
I was doing Perricone for a while and felt good about it. I've quit it to return to a vegetarian diet of late, tho. I personally do better without meat or fish (or even much dairy). The 3 day intensive plan is good before a photoshoot or big event.
And yes, buy the supplements elsewhere. Saves a TON of money.

So here is the verdict....
THE BASICS- Well the basics are always the basics, not processed food, no sugar, no alcohol or coffee.
SUPRISING FACTS- No tropical/sweet fruit, no rice of any sort, lots of green tea, important to eat every few hours.
IMPORTANT- LOTS of Salmon, water, fruit such as berries/apples/cantaloupe.
MY CONCLUSION- Eating pretty much as I already am.... cutting out the rice and adding more salmon and berries, less coffee more green tea. Taking my own formula of supplements listed below.
I am getting my supplements from http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/now/now.htm
There is a product called wrinkle rescue that has the same amounts of alpha lipoic acid and DMAE as his supplement at a quarter of the price!!!
http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/now/wrinkle.html looks good
And apparently this stuff works miracles on your skin
http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/tl/dmae.html
Everything is going to cost less than $50 and most of it will last for a good 3 months... sure bets perricones $65 a month!!!
If anyone wants my exact purchase details let me know or you can make your own descions by reviewing his supplement list at

Oh I found this is anyone is interested....
3 Day Diet for a Nutritional Facelift
Perricone provides the following 3 day plan (same meal plan for each day). Protein should be eaten first. Note that the salmon should be wild, or at the least organic. The full program is 28 days and contains far more variety.
Wake Up
8 to 12 ounces spring water
Breakfast
3 egg whites and 1 whole egg and/or a 4- to 6-ounce piece of broiled salmon
1/2 cup cooked oatmeal (not instant)
4 oz cantaloupe + 1/4 cup fresh berries
8 to 12 ounces spring water minimum, (more if desired)
Lunch
4 to 6 ounces grilled salmon or tuna packed in spring water
2 cups romaine lettuce
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil and freshly squeezed lemon juice to taste
4 oz cantaloupe + 1/4 cup fresh berries
8 to 12 ounces spring water minimum, (more if desired)
Mid-afternoon snack
2 ounces low-salt, sliced chicken breast
4 raw, unsalted hazelnuts
? green apple
8 to 12 ounces spring water minimum, (more if desired)
Dinner
4 to 6 ounces grilled salmon
2 cups romaine lettuce
1 tablespoon olive oil and freshly squeezed lemon juice to taste
1 cup steamed asparagus, broccoli, or spinach dressed with a little olive oil
4 oz cantaloupe + 1/4 cup fresh berries
8 to 12 ounces spring water minimum, (more if desired)
Before-bedtime snack
2 ounces low-fat low-salt turkey or chicken breast
1/2 pear or green apple
3 or 4 almonds or olives
8 to 12 ounces of spring water

Hey Krys...let me know what u ordered..it would be great to save that much money on everything!!!

sounds like a good diet. For some reason when I eat a lot of seafood (like 2x a day for a couple days) I tend to start smelling like it's coming out of my pores, but man does my skin look good, refreshed, and glowing.
I may have many faults, but being wrong ain't one of them.

NOW Wrinkle Rescue, 60 Capsules $8.55
NOW Evening Primrose Oil, 500mg/250 Softgels $12.29
I am also going to add either salmon oil or flaxseed oil... still trying to decide. The total is around $60 but some supps will last for 1 month (the wrinkle rescue) whilst the others will last for 4 (Evening Primrose, Vit C and Cal-Mag). This is based on taking 2 of each everyday (1 in AM 1 in PM) which will supply me with a little more than on the perricone plan at a fraction of the cost!
All the vitamins I have listed are the ones in Dr. Perricone's Skin Clear Nutritional Support System Dietary Supplements.
http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/now/now.htm is where I am ordering them from.
Hope that helps, let me know how you go

I've been wanting to try this diet. But fresh salmon is pretty expensive- I might just eat it once a week instead of a few times a day-that could add up to serious $$$. Canned salmon is cheaper but might not be as healthy. (To bad I don't like canned tuna- it's not quite as healthy as salmon though.)I've been eating some fruit and veggies but I feel weird buying the suggested berries in winter when they're out of season.

Salmon is good anyway you can get it but is always best if its wild alsakan salmon (you can get this type in a tin).
Get you berries frozen and make smoothies from them with plain yoghurt, protein powder and a little bit of water mmmmmm. The main idea with fruit is to stay away from the tropical fruits and sweet fruits.

I get all my salmon from Trader Joe's since it doesn't seem to be as expensive as Von's or Ralphs.
I may have many faults, but being wrong ain't one of them.

dr. perricone was on the today show this morning talking about his diet and latest book. It sounds to me like a sensible, healthy eating plan that focuses on eating whole, nutritious foods vs. the preservative laden crap in packages that we all love. I might pick up the book... i need to finish ann coulter's latest first though![]()
Be careful with the salmon from Trader Joe's. Unless they are using a different supplier than they do here (N. Nevada) it was invariably Pacific, farm-raised salmon. That's the icky kind with the parasites and the added color. Just read the packageOriginally Posted by Muyaha
. They do have good deals on the frozen, organic blueberries, tho.

I came across this;
"Amazon has this feature that basically lets you read the whole book if you are able to figure out the right search terms.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/reader/0060...25#reader-link
Although, you could also start from the front cover (check out the table of contents) and then click on "next page" until you get the page want too!"

Veronika, I went and looked at some of my salmon I had from Trader Joe's it is a different supplier. Isn't that funny.
I may have many faults, but being wrong ain't one of them.
Thanks ladies for the wild alaskian salmon advice. I think I'll get some of the tin stuff to start with. There's a Trader Joe's in my city so I'll check there too to see if they have the good kind of salmon.
