    Default Documentary: Supersize Me

From the DVD jacket: "In 'Supersize Me', Morgan Spurlock unravels the American obesity epidemic by interviewing experts nationwide and by subjecting himself to a 'McDonald's only' diet for thirty days straight. His Sundance award-winning feature is as entertaining as it is horrifying as it dives into corporate responsibility, nutritional education, school lunch programs and how we as a nation are eating ourselves to death."
This really is a horrifying documentary. Seeing all the changes in Morgan in 1 month's time is shocking. You have to see it for yourself, I promise you'll change your eating habits.......even if you already eat healthily! You'll want to do something to make people aware of how big business supports habits that make people sick.....for example, it's sad how school kids are taught bad eating habits in school...because the schools buy from corporate businesses, or get government surplus sludge.

I watched this also.I have only have ate Mcdonald's probably once or twice since the beginning of summer when I watched this movie. It tastes like pure grease and the smell is horrific. You will not be able to eat it and enjoy it after a few months of not eating that crap.I thought it was really messed up how long that mcdonald's food lasts in those testing jars.It makes you wonder what they put in their food and how long it last in your belly.Yuck.I also noticed not eating it I have lost some weight and have a lot less cellulite on my thighs.Maybe their food may cause it? Overall you definetly will notice a difference of your health and how you feel not putting them Mc-grease-bugers in your body.

Because we ingest so many preservatives nowadays, our bodies take four times as long to decompose after we die now,as opposed to 100 years ago.

I watched this @ 2/3 weeks ago. It made me sick. I used to eat fast food all the time, sometimes a couple times a day.. I have been trying to eat healthier for a while now, and this movie really cinched it for me..I havent touched fast food since. It really was amazing what happened to the guy in just 30 days, it was making me sick watching him eat all that Mcd's .

You can come watch it with me. The great thing about it is that it's pretty hilarious, too. I mean, we all knew McDonald's was bad for us already, especially after reading the Schlosser book, but Spurlock makes the case in a non-preachy entertaining way.

this is an awesome movie. remember how he said he was feeling depressed a lot, but felt better after eating the food? i realized after seeing this and thinking back, the times when i am depressed i usually eat a lot of fast food. and now when i do eat it, which isn't as much, i pay attention to how i feel physically and emotionally.
also, when the mcdonald's fries didn't show one spot of mold after 2 months freaked me out!!! and the "real" fries molded after only a day or so i think, and was completelycovered in like a week i think! like he says, What is this doing in your stomach?
    yuck!

Haven't seen the movie yet, but what's kinda funny is that McDonald's doesn't offer the supersize option anymore... well... that's not entirely true. They changed "supersize" to "large" . And they are not allowed to ask if you want a large.. you have to request it

at least this is the case in my area

I saw Supersize Me and I couldn't believe what all happened to this guy in only 30 days. He gained over 20 pounds, his cholesterol went through the roof, he felt lazy and tired all the time, and he even had problems getting a hard-on. The part where he puked and they zoomed in on the puke was so gross. I didn't eat McDonald's for a long time after that. For anyone who wants to eat healthier, this is a good documentary to watch-if you watch this, you won't feel like eating any fast food for a very long time! LOL I still get cravings for McDonald's double cheeseburgers and Egg McMuffins once in a while, but I'll only eat them once a month or so.

I don't know if its just me,I feel stupid mentioning this..But did you guys notice the paintings they would show of sad Mcdonald's kids that looked like clowns ? It seemed like it could of been hypmotizing with the colors.Maybe to hyptmotizing so you know how bad mcdonald's is?Hopefully someone else noticed the same thing.

I could easily believe it. It's filler food, not nutritional food. You could show how bad candy bars are by eating them solidly for 30 days, too. We could show how bad paint is by sniffing paint fumes for 30 days. Etc.

I don't eat at McDonalds. The movie's premise (a steady diet of fast food is bad for you) seemed so obvious to me that I didn't have any inclination to see it.

you should watch it jay! besides the main point of the story (this crap is bad for you) there was a lot of interesting things in it, like the school for "bad kids" where they only gave them healthy food and their behavior was better, lots of other things, plus the catchy song:

    supersize, supersize the american dream...

i was dancing around all over, shakin my booty to that silly song!!

Confession: I haven't seen it and am not going to waste my time. How this even remotely relates to me, or anyone who doesn't eat at McDonalds for 30 days at a time, is completely beyond me. Change my eating habits? Yeah, I promise I won't eat at Mickie D's for 30 days straight at any given time. I promise when I do eat there, I'll be the one deciding what to order, not be mes-mo-rized by them asking "Would you like (whatever extra)?" And I promise I'll get more physical activity than he did by not exercising during the whole ordeal.

New movie concept: Morgan Spurlock drops money at a SC every night for 30 days straight to discover the impact on his ability to save for retirement. One of his rules is that he has to try every girl on the menu over the period and must pay for everything a dancer pitches to him. Watching this movie will keep you away from strippers forever!
