Thumbs up Newb's... not used to shaving everyday?

When I first started dancing, I wouldn't even shave against the "grain" because I'd get not just bumps, but BOILS. So, I always had a tiny bit of a shadow that I'd cover with body makeup. I found a skin soother that actually works last week, and I need to share it with all you sensitive skinned new girls. Most beauty supply stores have it, just call and ask. It's called:

    TendSkin

It comes in a royal blue bottle with a gold cap. Works like a DREAM! Not only do I not get ANYMORE ingrowns, but I can shave against the grain too! Get it. You won't be sorry!

Awesome- I'm looking it up right now-

    Another tip:
    1. Exfoliate! I use one of those back brushes, everyday, to help the hair grow back in. Otherwise, dead skin cells prevent new follicles from growing in, hence the ingrown hair.

    2. I shave using conditioner. Works like a charm.

    3. After shaving, put a little Neosporin to help the healing and irritation

yeah, most beauty supply stores carry it. Just give 'em a call and ask. It's kind of expensive, but that's only because it actually works. I paid $20 for a 4 Oz. bottle

Im not entirely new but I hate ingrowns. I always wonder what a customer thinks when they see them? Dont think I wanna know...

from a guy's point of view: i get ingrown hairs easily on my neck. a girl turned me on to the tendskin stuff a few years ago. it worked great, but you may notice a little dead/dry skin you have to scrub pretty well and use a little bit of lotion or something similar. oh and i always bought it online or from this girl who i think was a distributor. i have never seen it in a store, but then again i dont usually hang out in beauty supply stores. great stuff, though.

as far as exfoliating goes, use a sugar scrub (as opposed to a salt scrub, or one with synthetic scrubbing particals). while it gets rid of the dead skin cells, it also moisturises and is gentle on sensitive skin (which your bikini and pubic area definitely is!). you can make one yourself with a little olive oil and some raw sugar if you don't want to shell out mad cash for it.

tendskin didn't work that great for me I don't know why. Another brand worked better for me PBF lotion.

I may have many faults, but being wrong ain't one of them.

Ive never tried tendskin, sounds like something i definitely need to check out, i dont know how this works for everyone else, but after i shave a use a cottonball with alcohol on it, to makesure to get all the bacteria, then neosporin stuff... i do the alcohol every day after i shower, and it seems to help a lot, it does sting a bit though, so be careful...

the tendskin stings a bit too. Probably because there's alcohol in it. I used to do neosporin, but to tell you the truth it didn't really help me all that much. Everyones different.

Preperation - H works like a charm...... it is an anti inflammitory.... so it soothes bumps. large or small. and I shave with Olive oil.

I dont ussually get bumps. But when I do, they hurt like hell. mostly an ingrown hair... Preperation - H works for those too.

anyone else use bikinizone?? i have used this for years, since my first job dancing. its less than 10 bucks at target. never had a problem with it. it stings only very slightly.
neosporin is soothing but it didn't usually stop bumps.
you can also use prep-h on regular pimples to shrink them temporarily.

I used bikini zone, didn't work that well.. stings a lot
soaking in hot water helps loosen the hair follicle, works really good.

Using witch hazel after shaving works like a charm. You can buy it at the pharmacy, it comes in a bottle (is natural) and you just wipe it on.

You can get Tendskin at Sally Beauty Supply if there is any near any of you. I have never used it but my friend has and she says it works great.

Oh god... I just started using Tendskin and it BURNS like the devil is invading my hooha. Plus, it seems to be making my razor burn WORSE with how much it's irrittating my skin. Is this going to get better? I get really bad razor burn and ingrown hairs on my bikini line and NOTHING seems to work!

Hi all! I shave everyday and I use this product line called Bump Guard. It is a line of shaving supplies for african american men. Usually they have coarse facial hair. It works great! I have the special razor, shaving cream and treatment cream in case of bumps occuring. And I usually use hydocortisone cream afterwards. I get the Bump Guard products from Walmart.
