    Default Men's Rogain on eyebrows

Who has done this, & how did it go? I'm thinking of doing this, but i'm afraid of something may go wrong...lol. I want to thicken my eyebrows again, like when I was a teen & reshape them all over again. My eyebrows aren't bad, they look decent they way they are now...I just like change.

i've used men's extra strength rogain on my eyebrows when i've gone to thin. It seems to work when I used it for a couple of weeks. But it's not going to make a virgin eyebrow again. A little while ago I think in Allure I saw that they suggested using rogain for when your eyebrows are a little thin. It grows slowly hair by hair almost, not bushy at all.

I may have many faults, but being wrong ain't one of them.

That's interesting- I wouldn't of thought of it. I had really nice thick but not too thick eyebrows that I loved. Then I was in my club and one make-up artist keeps insisting (for several days )he fix them. Then one day I let him do my make-up and he insists on waxing them- I say ok and he waxes off the end of one on accident so I end up with 1 1/2 eyebrows. I have to re-draw the end about 4 times a night. Maybe I'll try Rogain- it's sort of expensive though- about $40?

I've heard of this too, but never tried. Had a similar exp. to CC's. Plus, they seem to thin w/age. &, mine are very blondish, even tho hair's dark.

Are you kidding? That's my problem too..I have like 1/2 eyebrows and the rest sort of just dissappeared and I seriously don't know why. My eyebrows are light..but I have none past the middle point of them. I have little straggly pieces grow back in so I just pluck the one or two..it would just look funny if I didn't..I NEVER thought of using rogaine. I have to constantly draw my arches back on too. SUCKS..I want those thick eyebrows with the high point and arch..I don't know maybe like jenny mccarthy's. WAAA! I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one having to do this. Eyebrows are VERY important because..you always hear makeup artists say "It's the frame of your face." I keep my bangs because I hate thinking people are looking at my eyebrows at checkouts and stuff..in the club I don't care because everything is super dark and accentuated with more makeup. I wanted ask this question for a lonnng time but didn't think anyone else had this predicament.

Never heard of it? It's this product made for male pattern baldness. You can get it at your major local drug store, even supermarkets have them.

    NO...it does not work.

Trust me I researched it during my eyebrowless phase.

Rogaine only works on male pattern baldness(aka the bald spot on the back of guys heads)

    It wont work on eyebrows.

Sorry girls....do a google search...you'll see....and if you are pregnant make sure you stay away from it.

Okay why does it work for me and others I know when we tweeze too much? Plus as I mentioned before it has to be extra strength.
The claim that it will only work on male pattern baldness is also the main reason for FDA approval, which a company will not stray from since that is what constituted FDA approval for over the counter sale and any other claims have to be okayd from the FDA. Rogaine is also recommended for propecia in women even though it is not stated as a FDA claim. This is the reason why rogaine extra strength works.
Products that stimulate hair growth usually work in one of two ways. They either
    • effect the hormones, which can stimulate hair growth (as in say propecia). In this case hair growth will not be limited to brows, if the product works.
    • vasodilate the blood vessels (make them bigger) to increase the flow of blood (as in rogaine) and presumably, nourish the follicles.
When it comes to hair growth no one ingredient has proven effective for all individuals, all the time. Individuals respond to different treatments in different ways. What may work for one person may be ineffective in another, and so on. Plus to see any regrow like most products you have to continue use for longer than a couple of days more like a month or so. In addition, you can not touch or apply makeup for at least 4 hrs. after applying rogaine to your sparse brows. The alcohol carrier in rogaine can cause irration to the skin for some people.

I read the same thing in Allure and was going to try it. Does anyone think it is dangerous though because on the box it says for men only and there is a different type of Rogaine made just for women. Does anyone know the reasoning behind this?
