Default Canada Cracks Down on Asylum Seekers

....over the last three months, more than 4,000 refugees crossed into Canada from the United States seeking asylum.
Officials are seeking to slow that movement, and an agreement between the United States and Canada, called Safe Third Country , has changed the rules about where a person may file for asylum. The agreement went into effect Wednesday.

So, Tigerlilly, I guess you're stuck here.

"He will come in one of the pre-chosen forms. During the rectification of the Vuldrini, the traveler came as a large and moving Torg! Then, during the third reconciliation of the last of the McKetrick supplicants, they chose a new form for him: that of a giant Slor! Many Shuvs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Slor that day, I can tell you!"

That must be a joke by Silverback. She wasn't seeking asylum, lol !

She and her family have legit reasons to be there due to the husband taking a job offer.

A "refugee" is commonly meant someone fleeing from danger or persecution, not political disenchantment. "Asylum" generally refers to a safe harbor from arrest, prosecution, and extradition by providing political immunity, not an alternative living location. I'm only wondering what "refugee" and "asylum" mean in this context.

Later edit: Sorry, just glanced at the article. Evidently, it's mostly to stem the influx of people claiming asylum who land in the U.S. and then face deportation.

Maybe she is referring to the fear that a lot of intelligent Americans have about the formation of a dictatorship for the rich. I think that a lot of countries around the world are going to have to open their eyes to what is really happening and do something about it. I think that a lot of intelligent Americans are really scared about what could happen to us because of our horribly corrupt ruling class. Kind of like the intelligent Germans who fled Germany before the Nazis had too much control.

Oops. I think it's time for me to go to bed. I thought she was talking about Americans fleeing to Canada.
    Good Night

Most people prefer to believe their leaders are just and fair even in the face of evidence to the contrary, because once a citizen acknowledges that the government under which they live is lying and corrupt, the citizen has to choose what he or she will do about it. - M Rivero
