    Default meditation

Does anyone here meditate? If you meditate, do you use audio tapes? (I saw some on amazon.com but wasn't sure which was good.) I'm thinking of starting meditating to reduce stress and also to help me sleep since alot of times it takes me 1-2 hours to fall asleep at night. Also sometimes if I'm having a bad day at the club I'll come home and complain alot about to my bf or be more likely to get in a fight with him after a bad day. Meditating sounds like it could be calming and benifical.

Also if anyone knows any great relaxing yoga videos I'd be interested in that too. I have AM/PM yoga, and Poweryoga but was thinking of getting another one to mix things up abit and stay current.
    Thanks!

You should get the Seane Korn yoga tape. I love it!!

I meditate (not enough lately, though). And, it's really great. I have a hard time sitting still, so using meditation in yoga really helps me...helps me blow off some energy and calm my mind at the same time.

I have a CD that I got from WalMart called Yoga. I love the music on it. I also love those nature CD's...very relaxing for me. Mars Lasar also makes great relaxing CD's. http://www.marslasar.com

    Have fun!

I've been wanting to get into meditation for some time, because I have a lot of difficulty controlling the aimless wanderings and ruminations of my mind, especially trying to eliminate the negativity that I sometimes wallow in. I've read a lot of books on meditation techniques and eastern spirituality, but have not achieved very good results with meditating yet, probably as a result of inconsistency. I'm wondering if I should seek out a personal teacher or possibly find a group to meditate with....

I really should get into meditation myself since I'm always wound up and thinking waaaayyyy too much about everything and nothing all at the same time. I tried it for a while but never could really get into it so maybe it's time to try again. Now my mom has this thing that is a noise maker, sort of like a radio but it only plays white noise sounds like water and trains and oceans, and it is quite relaxing.

I usually crank up the ol' WinMX and download various meditation files. I tend to stick with nature sounds without music, or any of the softer Asian musical ones. I used to go to classes, sometimes the actual Talking You Through It part helps... but I memorized enough grounding and meditation techniques that I stopped a while back. If you'd like some of them written out for ya, drop me an email. (paige at paigedwinter dot com)
