Poll for Dancers on non tippers

This is a poll for dancers only.

In your experience what do you feel is the most common reason certain customers repeatedly don't tip a single dancer on stage or buy even a single dance from anyone ?

I feel that more often than not, it is a form of revenge on all the women who have rejected them thus far in life.

I think the second most common reason is being cheap. There are a few here and there that just don't know any better but in my experience they are the least common.

What do the other dancers here at Stripperweb think is the most common reason ?

All of the above except revenge and rejection! Most men who have lots of money hate to tip for some odd reason. That is just being a cheap ass. Some havent been or just dont go to clubs a lot, therefore probably dont know the proper sc ettiquete (sp). OH, and ive heard this excuse a LOT..start talking to a customer, then in a few minutes ask if he wants a ld, and he ends up saying one of two things..I dont get ld's, I just come here to have a beer. Thats when I want to tell him to take his cheap ass self to a bar. Second, he doesn't get ld's. Well asshole, you dont tip on stage, you dont get ld's, so what the fuck are you here for.

Oh, I've seen the ones who are stroking their own fragile egos by turning down strippers. In my experience though, the most common reason is they're just cheapasses. I don't like to spend too much time worrying about it though, if someone tells me NO I'm off in a heartbeat to find a YES.

I think #1 reason is a cheapass. Having cheapass catered specials like $2 lunches, free buffets, and lots of dance specials encourages them to come out in droves.

The revenge issue is also a factor, but not the primary factor.

Another possible explanation is that certain men have very specific tastes for a type of woman, and the picky fuckers (hehehe) don't see any dancers they like enough. Also, some men come in to see their regular girl and she might not be on shift.....

I voted for cheap/rude... but I also think that many men have an animosity towards dancers because of past rejections from women.

Hmm. Maybe I should have used the more than one choice option on the poll.

I'll see if I can change it so those of you who would like to pick more than one choice can.

edited to add : it doesn't look like I can alter it after all, sorry.

It's a toss up. Cheap and rude and also iggnorance. Alot of young guys just don't get how it works. /some that I've explained the tipping thing to were almost in awe, "oh, we give you money and you take your clothes off and dance?"

There are also plenty of customer who are under the terribly misguided assumption that the clubs actually pay us to work They are also in awe when I explain that in fact, we ONLY make what customers pay us, and we have to give large cuts to the club to boot. I think some don't believe we have to pay to work - they think it's just a sob story. I have actually had a few argue with me; "no way! no one would actually PAY to work!"

They argue with you about it ! Oh my, now that is pretty bad.

I have a hard time buying into any of these customers in the US don't know about house fees and other tip outs. I think they are playing dumb. Never say never I suppose, but I am doubtful on the ignorance factor.

Ignorance. If I made as much as people think I do, I would be SO rich. Alot of folks are under some weird assumption that all strippers make as much as those top ladies.

Too embarrased by lack of money. Also, fishing for the remote chance they'll get attention for free. Dream on, fuckers.

I put ignorance, because in the UK, tipping is a rare habit, most esp in SCs. The only place people feel obliged to tip are in restaurants and event that can be rare.

Let's face it, it's just not a big part of British culture.

LOL! Ain't that the truth! Most guys seem to think we make 1k+ every night. Not even the top girls can make that ALL the time.

Just this week I had some dude from NJ trying to tell me ALL the girls at GoGoRama do 200 laps a night. LMAO! I couldn't help but laugh at him - he had just told me how the dances are 5 mintues each, so I asked him how it was possible to do 200 laps in say, an 8hr shift, when dances are 5 minutes each (of course I just HAD to dazzle him with my off the cuff calculations - 5 minute songs = 12 songs/hr * 8 hours = 96 total songs....have to subtract at least 16 or so for stage time, downtime between custies, and that leaves only around 80 or so if they're CONSTANTLY busy the entire 8 hours). Or how they manage to walk out of the club after doing that many laps in one night! Now that's stamina! Hell, most I've ever done is 50-something and I was damn tired after that, but if I could do 200 laps a night I'd be one rich (not to mention zero fat) bitch LOL

Just goes to show most customers have no idea what's really going on in the SC. They make wild assumptions but are totally clueless.

And don't you looooove the ones who get pissy about the price of lapdances, and try to compare it to what a regular job pays. Like the dipshit who says, "hmm, $20 for a 5min dance, why that's $240/hr! omg that's too much money!" As if the comparison is even relevant. If we actually made that, I'm thinking most of us would have been retired long ago.

Some of them know exactly what's going on. They can watch the bar for 5 minutes and see what kind of money is getting passed around. Try working on Government Cheese Islands- they'll hold your tip in their fist until they're satisfied with the length of the stage dance. I held someone's wristwatch for ransom- for a $1 tip. And a couple laughs.
Don't even talk to these guys!!! Don't look at them. If there's no cash getting flashed, it doesn't matter.

I picked cheap/rude. But if we were just talking about tips after a dance I'd say ignorant. I had a regular that I really don't like of mine not tip me when he usually tips me and I was in a really bad mood and needed christmas money so I was just like "where's my tip!?". lol. He's not a regular any more and I don't really care because it was worth more than the money I was getting putting up with him. But he tipped me, stupid cheap/rude asses.

I think mostly because they're cheap and they don't really want to spend money if they don't have to. It's harder here in Sydney because we don't have dollar bills, we have dollar coins...so they have to buy "Dancer Dollars" in increments of $2 each to use for tipping. A lot of the first timers don't realise they have to do this, they think they can just sit there and watch, while you can tell the cheapskates because they get tables near the stage but not on the stage, so they can watch but not tip. As for private shows I honestly think it's because of the cost, they have to pay $77 Australian for a 15 minute full strip (no touching or lapdancing). Course the club gets 66% and we only get 33%.

I voted for cheap/rude...but am leaning toward revenge too. I think the men who are cheap..do that because.. well over half of them know that they should not be there. They have the car payments and mortgage, diamond rings to pay for that frumpy wife at home.

It turns into rude because they want all the tit's and ass they can get for their buck..because after all they "deserve" it, all and then some for that $1 for us to provide them...with what the wife/girlfriend isn't providing. These men spend thousands on these frigid chicks and can't bring themselves to shed a few bucks for a dancers attention.

Revenge soon factors in here...I do think men in general resent women who are thought of as above average or sexy. It wouldn't be that way if the "general" women would just take care of their appearance and attitude..Dr. Laura even states this in her book THE PROPER CARE AND FEEDING OF HUSBANDS and she uses the word "frumpy."..She states that men are visual and when that is not provided then they will look elsewhere to fill the void..weird coming from her but I agree.

I experienced this at my club:

I saw that a larger, well maybe 300lb man was sitting in the 2nd row from the stage. I saw no one going near him for a dance..I figured that the girls didn't like his size. I don't care about such things. I had seen him watch me from the stage and I winked and flirted while I was up there. So I went up to him for and introduced myself and asked if he minded if I sat with him. Here is his answer: "No way!" ...lol Holy Shit..the guy was annngry! Score one for him. I said "Thanks have a nice night!" He didn't tip one girl the entire time he was there.

Holiday: Ok, if that's how you feel about the cause of the anger, but I think you're using very broad generalizations to focus the blame on wives. I'm trying to envision why a 300 lb. man would be angry that his wife didn't take care of herself. That kind of hypocrisy is certainly possible within the male psyche but it would be ironic for him to blame his wife for frumpiness when he's overweight. Perhaps it wasn't your intent to present this guy as an example of the cause of anger you were describing in the previous paragraph, but the juxtaposition made it seem that way.

'Tis only my but I'd be skeptical of anything Dr. Laura has to say about relationships, since her Phd degree reportedly is in physiology not psychology, and since she had an affair during a previous marriage and posed for nude photos taken by her then extra-marital lover. How hypocritical it is that this had to be revealed when the photos were released to the Internet; she never mentioned her own misdeeds while snipping at callers for their indiscretions. That leads me to view her as an entertainer on the radio with an image to protect and an agenda to promote, not an unbiased psychologist. If you really value her opinion, try calling her and asking what advice she'd give a woman making a living from stripping, then see what you think of her.

Maybe I should have been clearer..I already know what Dr. Laura thinks of strippers. lol I assume her book was not written for the crazy stripper mom in mind. I found it interesting reading and her view and that she was actually telling women that yes they are a big part of the problem as to why their men cheat. I'm not perfect and I don't expect Dr. Laura to have a clean slate. No of course I don't agree with all she says and yes she can get snippy to callers. There are also Dr. Laura haters..just like there are stripper haters..It's a really happy world.

It is a fact that their are frumpy wives..it's a fact that men are visual. I have seen time after time that... wives/girlfriends do drive their men away. Aren't over half of the men in the stripclubs married? That has nothing to do with their wives? They are the innocent victims?..hardly.

As for the big man..no it had nothing to do with him having a wife at home...I was just making an example of an experience with a customer I believed getting kicks turning girls down.

Unfortunately no one will ever nail down the perfect answer to why people cheat..If they could then I think stripclubs would be in big trouble..no customers.

Wow. I am pretty sure I would be a frumpy wife/girlfriend. I will not amuse my boyfriends, they way I amuse people at my club. Well, I'm amusing sometimes, but I don't do it like it's a job. I don't generally - or for that matter ever - dress to make him happy, to impress him or anything like that. I would be profoundly unamused if any of them indicated that I ought to. In a strip club one is meant to be eye candy; in a relationship one is not. In a relationship these hypothetical women can present themselves any way they want, and if that is frumpy (which in itself doesn't ring particularly true to me), power to them. I am reasonably sure that men go to clubs for a variety of reasons, and I think relatively few of them are because their wives are pretty or fancy enough. I am also reasonably sure that, for all the reasons men are cheating on their wives, that very few of them are related to how frumpy and unattractive their wives/girlfriends are. Also, (small point), it seems to me to be fairly natural for a man to spend more - like a lot more, exponentially more - on his wife/girlfriend than on a stripper.

Finally - one extra point - it is NOT "just a fact" that men are visual. I mean, they can see (except the ones that can't) but there is nothing about their eyes, their ocular cavities, their ocular nerves or the way their brains process information gathered from these eyes and eye accoutrements that is different from women. And if anyone quotes anything by Desmond Morris at me, you are in for such a digital thrashing.

This is something of a phenomena in strip clubs - the guy whose wife just left him for his brother, and he is out trying to make all women pay for it because he can't make his wife sorry. Strip clubs are this arena where he feels superior to all the women - he is comfortable judging all of us, which, really, when you think about it must feel pretty good to your fatty. He probably doesn't get that a lot. He'll probably become some kind of addict, and show up every week to say something snotty. His potential, not actually extant dollar makes all of us his bitches, right? Ha.

By the way Evan, if you are interested, Dr. Laura's PhD is in kinesiology. So she could be a kick ass gym teacher.
