    Default from rivethead to retro?

i usually dance to industrial at work. want to try something new. most girls at my club dance to rap. it's the same songs over & over i'm thinking of switching it up. customers complain that there's too much rap. i'm thinking of switching it to a mix up for me. i may dance to some motown & old jazz & swing music & 60s rock (plus some other random stuff i threw in below- but i'll make the sets flow together- they're listed randomly right now) does a girl dancing to these songs seem sexy & like money makers? (any other songs you want to add would help!) keep in mind: i'm tattooed & pierced quite a bit, so will it fit together with my look?

    louie armstrong- summertime
    portishead
    tori amos- spark

YES, go for it. Another song to add to your list would be Hit by a Brick, by Atomic Fireballs. It's a good swing song that works well on stage.

I think the vampy-gothic-kitten look works well with your look and the music you're talking about. You know, corsets and red lips, fetishy shoes/boots and flippy or foofy skirts. Outfit combos with lots of black and red, black and purple, black and pink, black and blue, black and white....

some good choices there. i think nancy's "bang bang" is mucho sexy, but incredibly slow and quite short as well. i think it needs something really swanky...perhaps an oldsk00l ostrich plume fan dance would work well with it. also...help me out here boys, there's a rock remake of "chain of fools" by....little ceasar i think it was. great version, not heavy and obnoxious, and might help to flow better with something like "mustang sally". and i know people are down on remakes on this board a lot but i prefer echo and the bunnymen's version of "people are strange" from the Lost Boys soundtrack. it's recorded better, a wee bit longer, and sounds basically the same with just a hint of a british accent. and while im talking remakes, if you like aggro stuff (you are probably already aware of this, judging from the "rip the system" line) but check out KMFDM's version of "these boots are made for walking" simply called "boots". i prefer the "bombs remix" which is #2 on the single.

Not me! Some of my favorite songs are remakes or radically altered remixes. You just have to be ready to weed out the botched attempts, and be aware that they outnumber the winners.

So what, when it works it's like being a fascist dictator and being given a new kind of missile.

Thanks for the new suggestions, Mr. C! Being a big fan of KMFDM, I will be checking that one out immediately.

Toxicgirl, try the Cypress Hill remix of "Wish Upon a Star", it rocks.

Yeah, some of the best strippin songs are remakes or major remixes. I've used the boots song before, very good
