    10. Does your family know about your job? If yes, do they agree with your decision?

    Hello Cathy,

    1. I was 24 and had a job with an NBA team and I wasnt making a lot of money and I always wanted to do it.

    2.I will be 26 on January 18.

    3. On average 150-200 but I know I could be earning more at a different club.

    4.I am a college grad.

    5. No relationship

    6. No kids

    7. I have been blessed not to have been in any in crazy situations.

    8. Until i'm married or 30 which ever happens first.

9.When I retire I will again pursue working in the sports industry.

    10. My mom knows I think and we dont talk about it. My cousin knows and she is cool with it. No one else knows.

11.I like it sometimes but then somedays it takes a toll on me. But overall I have no complaints.

    12. For me its a couple of things. Approaching customers! I hate it! And being a young black girl getting hired or even getting an audition at mixed/white clubs. They wont give you a chance and dismiss you all together depending on how many black/minority girls they have.

    13. Very active and I do a lot of pole work which helps.

    14. I have never used drugs in my life for god sakes I dont even drink soda let alone alcohol.
These were cool questions and I hope your project goes well. Feel free to contact me at [email protected] if you have any more questions.

    1. Why did you decide to do this and how old were you?
Hmmmm..... the first time I actually danced in front of a crowd it was a private party and I was 17. Actually dancing in a club I was 19 and had been "dared" to do it by the guy I was dating who was a bouncer at a club (he was 22 and taking a year off after graduating from college). I was scared to death but did the amateur night anyway and got absolutely sold on it.

    2. How old are you? I'll be 26 on the 20th of January

    3. How much (on average) do you earn (per night or week)? I don't dance anymore. I'm retired! Back when I did, however, I typically earned about $200 - $400 per night, after tip-out and club fees.

    4. Level of education? I have a bachelor's degree (BS) with a double major in Economics and Statistics from the U. of Washington. I'm getting ready to go back for an MBA in the next year or so.

    5. Are you in a relationship (married, long-term)? Married. Yep... the bouncer. 'cept he went on to Law School and is now an associate with a major firm. Really totally story-book, and no, none of our close friends (except two) know I ever danced and know he used to be a bouncer.

    6. Have any kids? Not yet! Planning to wait until I'm 30-ish.

    7. Did you have any unusual experience with a customer? Not really.... I only danced in fairly up-scale clubs that catered mostly to up-scale business guys. Pretty straightforward entertaining, 'cept for the "naked" part!

    8. How long do you think you will be doing this? I danced in Phoenix for about 9 months. We live in Seattle now, and the clubs here suck. If we lived in Phoenix, I'd do it again one night a week or so just to stay into it. Plus, it's a great incentive to stay in shape (I have a life-long problem battling my weight).

    9. If you plan to "retire", what would you like to do? I'm an office geek now-a-days. I plan to end up after 30 or so as a stay-at-home mom.

    10. Does your family know about your job? If yes, do they agree with your decision? Nope.

    11. Do you like your job? Loved it, but again, I danced in very up-scale clubs where it was fun and the crowd was very nice.

    12. What do you think is the hardest thing about your work? Ever dance in 6" heels?

    13. How do you maintain your physique? I'm at the gym EVERY morning.

    14. Did you ever use drugs? If yes, what kind?(optional, but would be very thankful for your answer) Occasionally smoke weed...... Coffee is the drug of choice in Seattle.

Why do these "interviews" always include the question of how much money we make? IRS, people! A public message board isn't a good place for this kind of info.

Ugh! And always with the sex and drugs questions too.

Yeah, we're all crack-addicted money-grubbing hos with shitty lives and abusive boyfriends.

I'm sure sweety21's survey and motives are sincere. However, research of this kind is completely
bogus. While I'm interested in these kinds of results, since all the respondants are entirely self-
selected there is absolutely zero statistical significance or validity to any complilation of responses.
Even if there were total anonymity here or to the email address, who is really going to admit
publicly that they use illegal drugs (for example)? Despite what sweety21 says about responses
only being used for research, a court order can override any good intentions. However, there
are actually ways in which true pollsters/researchers can get statistically valid results for this
kind of research. But I won't bore everyone here with things most people aren't interested in.

Wow, thank you all for your responses. I really appreciate it!

And no, I don't work for the IRS and I'm not interested how and if you pay your taxes

The only reason why I'm asking you these kinds of questions is to get at least some idea why you started and some of your background. I know I cannot get a whole psychological profile of you, but it's enough data to come up with a paper. In fact, I was supposed to interview a few people, but because my paper is due on Friday (I’m the queen of procrastination ), I thought this might be the way to go.

Apologies to those who were offended by the drug question.

    1. Why did you decide to do this and how old were you?
    19. I've just started uni and it's good money as a part-time job. I'm a bit of an exhibitionist and I'm proud of my body, and I love to dance on podiums in skimpy clothes in nightclubs, so may as well get paid doing it (minus the clothes ). If I still enjoy it by the time I finish my degree, I may even keep on doing it once or twice a week.

    2. How old are you?
    19!

    3. How much (on average) do you earn (per night or week)?
Varies, some nights I've made $1000 other nights $50!

    4. Level of education?
    Currently going to uni.

    5. Are you in a relationship (married, long-term)?
    Was, not anymore.

    6. Have any kids?
    No.

    7. Did you have any unusual experience with a customer?
Most unusual experience was being asked to only take my g string off but leave my minidress on, for a customer with an upskirt fetish! (I posted it here somewhere)

    8. How long do you think you will be doing this?
Till I stop enjoying it. At the moment it's fun (but I've only been dancing for 6 mths)

    9. If you plan to "retire", what would you like to do?
I'm studying psychology, so I'd probably do that.

    10. Does your family know about your job? If yes, do they agree with your decision?
Nope, what they don't know won't hurt them.

    11. Do you like your job?
Yes, otherwise I wouldn't be doing it. Beats the hell out of waiting on tables from a money point of view, and it's more exciting and varied.

    12. What do you think is the hardest thing about your work?
Keeping your spirits and your mood up when business is slow. Oh, and making sure I keep my mind on the job and don't treat it as a "social outing" (which I think I did the first couple of weeks when I started)

    13. How do you maintain your physique?
Gym, gym, gym! But I've got a fast metabolism as well.

    14. Did you ever use drugs? If yes, what kind?(optional, but would be very thankful for your answer)
I have, but never at the club I dance in and never while I'm working. On special social outings like New Years Eve parties have used e and coke on an occasional basis. I'm kind of an impulsive person but I don't think I'm a druggo or anything, I can count on one hand the number of times I've done it. One of my clubbing (as in nightclubbing/raving) friends is a doctor so I figured if anything happened to me I was safe

    Hope that helps

Ever since I was 2, I liked running around with my clothes off. Oh, wait, most two-year-old girls do that. Maybe that wasn't the reason.

    2. How old are you?
    27 going on 40.

    3. How much (on average) do you earn (per night or week)?
$400. Sometimes per night, sometimes per week, sometimes per month, sometimes that's how much I wind up in the hole to the House.

    4. Level of education?
I think I finished college but I was so stoned, I don't really remember if this diploma is from a real school or mail order.

    5. Are you in a relationship (married, long-term)?
Relationship, yes. Marriage, no. It's in my state constitution now that us two grrlz can't get married. I say thank the Goddess I can't be tied to that beotch for life! (J/K if you're reading this, honey.)

    6. Have any kids?
    Not that I know of.

    7. Did you have any unusual experience with a customer?
Yeah, this one really aloof guy took me into VIP and asked probing questions for what wound up being 12 hours, but I thought only an hour had passed. Told me something about I was being chosen by an alien race to fight evil at my club and on the parking lot outside. I'm so pissed he only paid for a half hour. He owes me for the rest of that time in VIP, damn him!

    8. How long do you think you will be doing this?
Until a woman wins the presidency. Or until women earn equal pay for equal work. Whichever comes first.

    9. If you plan to "retire", what would you like to do?
I figure with these telekinetic powers I got from that alien guy, I could switch to being a bouncer. "Tip the ladies well, jerks, or I'll make your head fall off! Yes, that head. Bwahahaha!"

    10. Does your family know about your job? If yes, do they agree with your decision?
Sheesh, my family takes 30 percent commission on all my LDs. They're really bitchy if I have a slow night.

    11. Do you like your job?
Only when researchers who wait until the last minute to do their homework and were supposed to interview live bodies but instead ask me a series of questions like this in an Internet forum where no one knows whether anyone's real or not. It's almost as much fun as boys spooging on me.

    12. What do you think is the hardest thing about your work?
Maintaining my cheery, positive and helpful demeanor like I am right now. Hee hee.

    13. How do you maintain your physique?
    Silicone. Geritol.

    14. Did you ever use drugs? If yes, what kind?(optional, but would be very thankful for your answer)
Wellbutrin and Ritalin. Oh, you mean without a prescription? Yes, I think I need a White Russian right now, as a matter of fact. Or maybe a well-tanned Italian. Anywho, all this brain activity tires a stripper ditz like me out. What was the question?

If you are not comfortable answering these questions here, you can send it to my email: [email protected]. I guarantee you that your info will be used for research ONLY, and if you want to I can even send you my final paper.
Well, now you tell me, after I already hit "Submit Reply."

    Thank you VERY much!

    Cathy
Thank you for letting me be a total smart ass. And no, these aren't serious answers so don't skew your research with them or else I'm telling your professor next time he gets a dance from me.
