    Default Scar revision surgery

I had a consult with a PS two weeks ago about surgically fixing the scars on my periareolar BA incision. I've tried the silicone patches, vitamin E and all that but it's done nothing.

Has anyone else had surgical scar revision done? What were the results? Was it worth it?

He's recommending the surgery and a round or cortisone shots while I'm under. My scars are hypertrophic (MUCH easier to fix than keloids, though they have a few common properties).

Feedback is welcome, as I've never met anyone that's gone that route.

Have you thought about areola repigmentation? http://www.breastimplants4you.com/ar...gmentation.htm

I have had both laser scar removal with CO2 laser on my torso from an operation and scar revision on my arm from an accident. I ended up liking the results from the laser more.

I may have many faults, but being wrong ain't one of them.

Hmm, what do the scars look like? I have periareolar scars, too. But they are pinkish reddish. I would never consider repigmentation--that would make them appear larger than what they really are. The laser sounds like a good option.

Defiantely go with lasers- why go under??? Ive seen lasers done in my old doctors office and each patient was in and out in like 10 minutes. Im thinking of doing lasers for my BA scars too. Maybe we can find a doctor togeather.

Most lasers for scar removal will have at least a week down time because of the redness. The CO2 laser does hurt more so then other lasers like YAG.
