    Default doing your homework

i was trying to explain to some new girls some time ago how important it was to do your homework, they thought i was nuts!

does anyone else here do a lil digging around the net for topics of intrest to their customers?

ie, looking at car stuff, business pages, mens magazines, mens fashion, mens health etc etc.

ive noticed it helps when you show intrest in their intrest, so knowing stuff about what they care about, usually helps?!

surely someone else does this too....

I used to really do my homework when I was dancing. Learning the habits of your prey so to speak. Here was my normal stuff.

    1) I was always very aware of big meetings and conventions coming to town (Houston) and I would make sure to know a little about the group or organization because through the course of a week I would likely meet some custys from one of those groups. The offshore technology conference every year in Houston is a great example. I also stayed plugged in to conventions going to New Orleans or San Antonio and would travel if there was a good one.

    2) I read the front page, sports page, and business pages almost everyday.

    3) I would catch about 30 min of CNN every day.

    4) I knew schedules of local sports teams - had some really good nights after big games or big wins.

    5) Tried to keep up with which female celebs were popular with the guys - Finding a way to work in something like "Isn't Anna Kournakova hot" always seemed to work well to jumpstart conversation.

I was never good with car stuff, and 90% of the guys seemed bad with fashion so I didn't invest much time there. But yes - knowing thy prey can help!

I never have, but current events and such doesn't really go with my style of hustle. However I can speak intelligently about a variety of topics, and I can steer the convo to areas I'm better with, or just listen and act interested when he just wants to brag. But I usually let my dances do most of the talking, and I rarely spend much time chatting.

I agree though, it can be very helpful to keep up with current events and have something interesting to say about it. Guys with money like smart women who can hold an intelligent conversation.

Never actually done this. However, recently switched to a new club and I can certainly see how this would be beneficial with the sort of hustle required there. Hmmm...

I've been reading the sports page.

I always thought about that? When I go back dancing I will keep my homework in mind. I always saw girls that were making alot of money and I wondered why? One time one of the girls gave me a tip to do exactly this. Funny how a little work goes a long way.

The most I do is pay attention to the score of whatever game is on while I'm working. I find a lot of guys will watch the game and us at the same time. Then I usually will ask about what sports they like. When they ask me, I just say "I'm not too into sports." They usually appreciate my honesty.

Actually if it seems that you remember someone who has gotten dances from you in the past and make them feel special somehow, that will ensure more dances in the future.

Guess i am a little lucky (not much) in that dept. As i love football (NFL) and can talk about positions, names of players etc.

Cars/vehicles...That's a biggie for me, i learned to love cars since...gosh i knew they were on earth.

Mens health issues, but they never seem to want to talk about the prostate...Lol.

And a few other things like, Harleys, BSA's, and Indian bikes.

Guess knowing enough about these subjects serve me well at times.

I've been in IM with dancers and done homework in real time. They'd mention a favorite singer; I'd have Amazon.com open and listen to the clips.

If a dancer was really good in a sport, I like talking with her about it. Best convos I ever had were with a college point guard and a HS class champion in pole vaulting.

I'd be willing to be that these are the same girls complaining about how slow things are and that nobody is buying dances.

    Lots of good advice here.
