Default Do you were your watch on your right or left?

I got a nice watch for Christmas and I was showing it off to my co-workers and one of them told me I was wearing it on the wrong side. I was wearing it on my right and i have a bracelet on my left. She said the correct way was watch on left and bracelets on right. Is this really true? I didn't know their was a watch and bracelet etiquette. I like wearing it this way and it feels comfortable.

I never felt like there was an etiquette (it's not like this is the Victorian age or anything) but I do wear my watches on my left hand. I do that because 1.) I am right handed and if I had to fiddle around with adjusting a watch and turning the knob or pressing buttons with my left hand I would be screwed. 2.) Most watches have the knob on the right side so it just makes sense (to me) to wear the watch on my right hand. This is because it just seems like it's easier to grab the knob since it ends up facing your hand. If you wear it on your right hand, the knob is facing your arm and that just seems more awkward to me. (Wow, I hope that made sense, I know that was a mouthfull.)

I say do whatever makes you comfortable though...

    I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.

I wear my watch on the right side, but people have told me in the past the proper way is on the left for god knows what reason, but I wear it on the right for personal comfort. I agree with Chani do whatever makes you comfortable

People usually wear a watch on their left wrist. I show mine off (at the hospital) so i wear it on my right side facing people when i type, as it is a Rolex that i paid my hard earned cash for, and want the world to know i will treat myself....

There is actually a definitive answer for this...

If you are right handed, you're supposed to wear your watch on your left hand, and vise versa, the reason being that you would tend to bang the delicate mechanical instrument less if you wore it on the opposite hand.
However, because of this, it is not improper to wear it on either hand if that is your preference.

I always wore a watch on my left hand because I'm right handed and my parents told me that you wear it on the opposite hand of whatever hand you use. Doesn't make it right or wrong though. I don't wear a watch now because I had to sell the one I had and loved it so much I don't want another one until I can get the same one again.

I rarely wear a watch, but when I do, I wear it on my left wrist. I'm right handed.

This is the correct etiquette for watch wearing.

I was always told to wear it on your opposing hand as well, but I never did because I liked wearing mine on the right for whatever reason. Now, my watch is my cell phone...haha, I never wear one.

i either use my cell phone, or i have a watch i got for traveling and it clips on to things (backpacks, beltloops). something about watches always irritate me, having them on my wrist i mean. i never wear one. but as to the actual topic...if i WERE to wear one...i'm right handed and would wear it on my left wrist.

I am left handed so my watch(when I wear it) goes on my right and my bracelet, along with my rings goes on my left.
