Is anyone else having problems making money right now? I've only been dancing 4 months so I'm not sure how it usually is after christmas. But in the last three days I've only made about $250 - total. I worked wednesday daytime and made only $20, (I think there was only 7 or 8 customers in all.) Thursday night I made $20, and last night it was busier and I made $210. But mostly I got rejected a lot, and I know I wasnt the only one cuz I saw other girls getting rejected too- but it makes me feel soooooo friggin UGLY. I know I'm not and whatever, but I don't feel I should have to twist a guy's arm to get a goddamn lapdance! The club I work at is no contact, no extra's at all, and we mostly attract out-of-town younger guys who arent old enough to drink in the US yet. (I'm in ontario, where the age is 19) So anyway as a joke last night I said to these guys "Ok so who wants to come and watch me finger myself?" Usually this would get a great reaction, but this time it was like "That sounds tempting, but no thanks." WTF? WHERE ELSE AROUND HERE CAN YOU GET A GIRL TO FINGER HERSELF FOR TWENTY BUCKS????? (**Keep in mind I wasnt actually going to do it, I was just seeing if they would go for it.)

So on to the next retarded story: I asked this european guy to go in a VIP booth with me ($20 dance) and he did. I got the money, danced for him, and asked if he wanted another one. He said sure. So I do another one. When it was done I said "Ok it's $20 please." He acted like I just asked him for a piece of the moon! He was like "You didnt tell me it was another $20." Uhhh... ok you stupid moron. So he gives me the money, but get this: he says "I'm going to have to tell the waiter that you didn't tell me." lol! First of all, what's the waiter gonna do? (Eventually the manager did talk to me, for political reasons you know, just so he wouldnt get in trouble over it.) This is by far the most hilarious thing that's ever happened to me. There is a thing on every single table that clearly says (Table dance $10 PER SONG. VIP $20 PER SONG) What a retard!

I guess this is kind of a rant, but please share your stories or rants if you have any. Is it more difficult for you after the holidays and what do you do to increase your earnings during this time?

It's that time of year. It's probably not going to get better until March.

Business just sucks this time of year. Customers just spent all their money on Christmas, maxed out the credit cards, etc. Add to that every stripper or wannabe stripper is broke and needs money, so competition is stiffer now. It's hard for everyone to make money right now, so don't feel bad.

I've been having some problems lately as well, not too many customers have been coming in becasue of the money spent during the holidays, we also had two girls that were "LOVING" their jobs in the last few nights and that didn't help either...
I'd chock it up to that time of year and hope for the best.

Things are slow in a lot of areas right now. Detroit is slow, and Daytona is always slow just before the Races start.

If you read this forum you'll see you're not alone.

And I know it's hard to do, but try not to let the customers influence your feelings of self-worth. I have more than once introduced a beautiful woman and seen her dance like a dream, only to have the customers sit there like cattle--sometimes it's just like that, especially if the economy sucks. Young guys so often are way too busy being cool to pay a woman a compliment, and usually are broke anyway, so don't let them bother you.

Have you tried self-hypnosis? This can help you maintain your positive attitude even in the face of adversity.

It can really work well. The problem I have is--being of a very restless disposition--when I need it the most is when it's the hardest to do, lol.

Relaxation through various means (countdowns, envisioning floating, etc.), short and positive messages to yourself ("I am beautiful" is better than "Asshole customers don't bother me"), and visualization of your desire is the way to go...

You want to get yourself to that dreamy state like just before you go to sleep, but don't sleep--talk to yourself instead. There are books out there, some of them good, but it is pretty simple. I think prayer is really self-hypnosis, but that's my opinion. If anyone else is interested I can post more about it.

I feel so much better after seeing this thread...it has been so bad for me since the holidays ended and other girls at my club...the girls with good regulars are still making money and all the rest of us are suffering. I worked a double yesterday, and pretty much nearly worked for free my first shift. There was about a 1 to 1 dancer to customer ratio for a good part of the day. It's so frustrating when the club is full of people and the lap dance area is empty. I've been hearing a lot of, oh I'm too broke from christmas to buy a dance right now. I guess next year I will save my money more to help me through the slump this time of year.

This probably explains why ladies who have previously danced for me before are so happy to see me these days. I'm not a high roller by any means either, but they know I'm good for several dances.

Lolita86: Ever over here it is not so good. Dancers are back from their holidays so now we have more girls yet the patrons aren't spending..... if they are... they're just going for the bare minimum.

For instance, last night (Saturday), I would say a good 80-90% of the total amount dances sold were 10 minutes. There were even one or two 5 minute ones sold. This frustrated me to no end as I only sell the half hour and 20 minute ones.... I ended up having to work harder (not smarter as I usually do) for my money.

That is until the end of the night when one dancer shared with me a good way to get more money out of the "bare minimum" guys. Now I can guarantee myself an extra $20 with these guys and I won't feel so let down that I didn't sell a 20 min. dance. Hmm... we'll see.

Regardless... it is the time of year.

Well tonight I went in thinking I'd do a little better than I have been recently - the last minute girls should have paid their rent by now, holidays are over, should have a few beginning of the year business travellers, etc. I was right, and I did a little better, but still made about half what I should make on a Saturday night. It was still slow, and we still had double the normal amount of girls, so it was hard. Plus we had a feature taking away valuable hustle time AND she was selling lapdances. For fuck's sake - the features shouldn't be selling lapdances!

Bleh! I can't wait to get my butt to Phoenix, where at least I know I'll do better than this.
