    Default I was called "healthy

Tonight, a guy told me that he thought that I was "healthy", is this a nice way of saying that I am fat?, another guy told me that he appreciates my curves, I am 5'7 and weigh around 125 lbs. I never thought that I was heavy, or overweight, but comments like this make me question my weight, I can't believe he said I was "healthy" has someone else ever had something like this happen to them?

He meant what he said. He,by no means were saying you were fat.He meant you were the ideal weight, not too fat,not too thin, just perfect. That is a very flattering compliment.I get called,"healthy" all the time and I love it.

When a guy says you're healthy, it's usually a compliment. That you look healthy. Health is attractive.

yea, guys don't understand our sometimes fragile self-esteems (courtesy of society). To them, healthy means just that, healthy (remember, guys are simple ) We hear "healthy" and our self conscious fat alarms go off. Isn't it twisted that we'd rather be called "skinny" or "too thin" than "healthy"?

Boys, just call us stunningly beautiful, that will work just fine hehe...

Hon, don't let others cause you to judge yourself. Because you simply can't please everyone and you'll quickly learn the only person worth pleasing is yourself !

lol. I have heard that comment before and had the same reaction. But i did the math on your weight and you are actually in the low range of your "ideal weight"

Your ideal is 135, you are 10 pounds under... There is a net of 13 percent give or take.

He probally thought that comment was the ultimate compliment.

Not too many year's ago, " Healthy " would mean ..... thick, corn-feed, buff, or something along those line's. Unfortunately in today's industry standard " Healthy " more often then not mean's that you are one of the obviously not-cracked-out girl's in your area. I used to get way more customer complaint's because my girl's where all too skinny then that they where thick. I would truely consider being called healthy by today's standard's a strong compliment.

Well, it used to that the women that we call "fat" today were the ideal women because it showed that their family could afford to feed them... The bigger the women the higher esteem the husbands were given.
I think he def. meant it as a compliment, he probably thought a lot of the anorexic looking girls were not his type, but you were....

    Your weight is fine!!

There are a lot of "thick" girls that I work with. Not obese, and only one would be considered borderline fat, but really thick yet firm. They have weight on them, yet is doesn't jiggle that much and if it does, since I work in a topless bar, they were wider booty shorts. They work their breasts instead.

The thing is, the guys love them. LOVE them!!! They make money. I am NOT a thick girl, but it doens't mean that I'll be banking. Some guys have even called me skinny , which I am not either. ( I don't know, I don't own a scale. I do know that I am a size 0 or kids larger sizes and I am 5'2", but healthy).

I think that healthy is a compliment. I worked in a club briefly with some skinny crack types, and older dancers who drank too much and didn't get enough sleep. My then manager said he loved my look because I looked "healthy". I think what he meant was, clear skin, bright eyed, enthusiastic and not burned out.

Long post, but take it as a compliment

    Cheers,

    Corey

Thank you so much everyone for helping me clear this is up, and you all are right all that matters is whether or not I am happy with my weight, and he probably did mean it as a sincere compliment.

Healthy means just that--healthy in an attractive sense.

Thick means just that--more than average, but not unattractively so.

Remember, what guys say can generally be taken at face value; that whole simplicity thing.

Idealism is fine, but as it approaches reality, the costs become prohibitive.

Well, there's always the occasional freak that goes for the ravaged tweaker look...

But seriously, I doubt he meant to call you fat. Maybe he's used to going to clubs where a lot of the dancers are emaciated and have bolt-on tits and a woman who actually eats a meal here and there caught his eye.

I used to work with a guy who used to come up to my desk and go "uh-huh, look at that cute little fat face" or something about me being "fat." He totally didn't understand that it wasn't a compliment! He meant it in the nicest way. And I wasn't even fat, but I do have a round face.

I like being called healthy, and being told that I have lovely teeth. Many dudes also say that I have nice curvy thighs and ass (I know that's the 'in' thing right now, so I don't get freaked out by that compliment. Besides, my upper half balances me out ). Sometimes these things that some of the girls go ''Uh?!'' at, I actually find a nice compliment. And for the most part, I get these complimets from people who are interested in dancing with me so I know that in no way are these things an insult.

Yeah, I've been told through all my dancing years that I'm a "healthy girl". 99.9% of the time it's said during a lapdance or stage tipdance, and delivered with a big smile that says "I like it". I've always liked it, because I know they mean exactly that, I look healthy - which is ALWAYS a good thing. Who wants to look unhealthy?

Heh, the one thing that I remember mistaking was the phrase "girl you're built like a brick shithouse". LOL! At the time I hadn't heard that before and thought a brick shithouse couldn't be a good thing

It's a comment on your breasts. To say you're "healthy" means you have big breasts. It used to be more commonly used than it is now.

I remember hanging out with my grandpa and he see a big breasted girl and say "she's a healthy girl".
