    Default Discrimination

I was just wondering what happens after dancing. I am thinking about auditioning at a new club but I know they do paperwork on you. Can this adversely affect me when I try to get a job teaching? Last year was my first year the hole in the wall I worked in checked ID but never wrote anything down. I figured I can report my earnings as other income. I mean that's what I did for babysitting money and money from hairstyling. I know they do a background check and I was just wondering if this could come up and be a problem for me. Anyone have any advice or insight? Thanks in advance.

I doubt that it would affect your chances at teaching. schools are usually liberal leaning so they might not even have a problem with it (well the higher learning institutions at least). I asked a customer about that when i first started dancing. he was a regular and said that unless I'm trying to work for the CIA I don't need to worry about thorough background checks.

The main concern should be to not have a police record and to account for "lost time", the time you were apparently doing nothing in life (that people know of) or building a resume, but were still somehow paying taxes. Many girls just tell employers they waitressed. But if you have a day job/school etc or work during vacations then you wouldn't have any "lost time" to account for anyway.

True...I left stripping for a second and got a "regular" job. I dont think they saw anything??? Or at least they never mentioned it. But, I did get hired to a car audio place and I didnt know SH!T about cars??? Still dont know how to replace my windshield wipers!! LOL
But, if your applying for a high profile government job (ie governer or FBI) then I dont think they would look into that area for suspicious things.

the only major exception to this would be if you live in a city which requires dancer's licenses. If that is the case, then anyone who obtains a dancer's license is creating an official public record of the fact that they've worked as a dancer, a record which is available to potential employers, family courts, even potentially club customers or anybody else with $5 to cover the copying fee and the interest to go to city hall and ask for it.

Melonie thats kinda scary that about anyone can access it.
I worked in a city that didnt require a license......wait except Reno; it worries me to how much people can know about your private life at any given moment. Is there any way to cover your tracks? Probably not.
