Thumbs down This really isn't like me, but....

Ugh.... total burnout. I'm 'sposed to be at work at about.... hmmm... now, but I figured I go in an hour late 'cause I can't get off my extremely tired ass. So here I sit on stripperweb, drinking a glass of wine. I've worked at this place a couple of times so I figured my excuse would be that I thought we started at five since that's the time I'm used to. Also, since I'm paying to work there, I almost feel justified in this. I know this isn't professional, thus I need to quit stripping SOON! Any way, 4 til 2 is just too long of a shift for me! (hour drive one way) *checks time* SHIT SHIT SHIT!! Gots to go to work. *grumble grumble grumble*

Sounds like serious burnout. You need a vacation.

I'm with everyone else that's a long shift to work then to drive a hour there and back... WOW... take some time off.

I may have many faults, but being wrong ain't one of them.

Its been my experience that if I am dragging on my way in, then I don't really want to be there and I usually don't make much money, wouldn't it be better to take the night off and go back tommorrow refreshed?

LOL - Meagan, your so cute. I know how you feel hon. There are days when I have to drag my ass to work. I have been at my club almost 5 years!!!!! Take a break. Take a nice vacation some place nice and clear your head for awhile. I may be retiring from dancing within the next 7 months. Yikes!!!

Just got back from an uneventful evening. Any way, there's no amount of vacation that can suffice for me. I could take a cocksuckin' month off, go back for a day and still be draggin'. IT'S TIME TO QUIT... soon. 7 1/2 yrs under the belt is all I can really take. Here's one for ya:

Tomorrow: 2 hour 15 min drive to work ( I actually really like this club ) work 8 hours; 2;15 back... be at work at same club as today at 11 fucking am for a double shift ( 11 - 2:30) with an hour break; repeat. *puts gun to head, pulls fucking trigger*

Now I don't need advice on how to handle all this - ask Blondhottie - I LIVE IN WISCONSIN, there's no alternative options! la la la la la la la la ...... *slowly going insane*

Always wondered about burnout for you girls.

I guess (and this is purely guessing due to lack of experience) that the constant body workouts, and being on your feet for up to 10 hours at a time can be quite taxing. Then add into that the topsy-turvy sleep patterns, unusual eating times, and general lack of sunshine... I can only assume that your bodies wouldn't cope too well.

No wonder you lot are so crabby in the mid morning

It isn't just all what you mentioned ^^^^

Add to that the fact that we are supposed to be perky and happy all the time ..... mentally it is draining enough! Sales is more mental than physical ... therefore you can burn-out not just because of what you mentioned .... just due to the "sales" nature of the business.

That's what usually causes my burn-out as I don't have troubles with the other areas. I usually take myself off to a new place (a city that has potential and I have not worked in before or else have not worked in for over a year) for a short time to re-invigorate myself.

Hence me going to Adelaide. I want and need a break from the Gold Coast so I don't go insane and the crap at my club doesn't get at/effect me

Hearing you! I took ten days off, went back to work for friggin' 11 days out of three weeks and NEVER want to see the place again. However, wanted to start working anywhere again after Jan 1 - will end up being later tonight. 3 hour drive round trip, $10.50 in tolls, 5 hour shift though.

You do have a good point perhaps. I was so tired dancing 5 nights a week then going to my other job days, and doing phone sex between naps.

I feel if a woman who dances starts to feel like Megan (i feel for her, she's sweet) needs a vacation. Get out of that "i have to be happy" mode, it's tough, really, especially when you don't feel happy.

Second when you go back to work, if you feel the same way, and this does not pass soon, hurts earnings, and you.....Quit. Realy. It's a tough business.

I'm with you on this Megan. Wisconsin clubs hAVE BEEN terrible LATELY. I am also dreading every day/ night I have to go in because it has been so slow that I almost know ahead of time it isn't going to be worth putting up with drunk horny old men. Just know your not the only one. Everyone keeps telling me to take a vacation too, but I can't because I haven't made enough money to do so.

Megan is right, there aren't many choices around here. I haven't worked at all yet this month, but January usually sucks anyway because everyone's broke from Christmas. I worked at a club in Ohio when I was down there visiting a friend, and it felt so nice working only seven hour shifts there. I worked during the day and it was slow, but I think I could make decent money on the night shift. I'm thinking about going back down there and working for a while.
