The thread on gifts got me thinking about dancing as a "consultant business" and how it compares to other 'fee for service' businesses.

For instance: other consultants buy gifts and dinners for their customers, but it's backward in this biz.

I'd also be curious how the girls here feel such major gifts (well beyond what any other consultant or professional would likely get) changes the relationship or their business model. Of course dancing isn't "any other business" but we are professionals, charging for time and so forth, yet the level of gift giving is typically higher (and more personal) here...and I'm curious what the thoughts are.

I understand "that's the way it is, and am not judging (been in the biz myself to some degree). Not sure exatly what the answer entails...whether the gifts are more warranted because of the more personal service, or what. That's all I'm asking.
