    Default Pro Activ/ Bare Minerals

Does anyone use either Proactiv or Bare Minerals makeup? I've had the proactiv for a month or so and it seem to be doing ok, but i still have like bumpy white/blackheads on my cheeks, so my skin never looks smooth... Any success stories or negative effects of either?

Never heard of the makeup, but my friend just bought the proactive program for your skin, and she loves it! It has a face wash and a facial toner (for cleaning after washing) and an acne cream. But she said the acne cream is really strong and does wipe out acne in like one day!! However, if you use it on areas that are clear on your face, it kind of ruins the smoothness of your perfect skin. Not good. So use sparingly. I think I might get some for one a month breakouts...

Bare Minerals is my very basic, stand-by makeup and really does even out the skin tone and create a naturally beautiful facade that does not do damage to the skin (even if you sleep with it on). However, I've had a difficult time really acheiving a flashy/look at me kind of application with the line. It is a very effective every day line of makeup, IMO.

Yeah, I meant the proactiv skincare....sorry i didnt specify...does the bare minerals seem to clog your pores at all? it seem to go on really light and nice.

I love, love, love my Bare Minerals. You never have that greasy, slimy feel of liquid foundation no matter how much you sweat. I've been wearing them for about 2 1/2 years and I will never go back to liquid. That said, I do still use an Avon under eye concealer (I have bad allergies and so I have really bad circles.) I also have a MAC concealer I use on really red spots. I just got the bisque stuff they use for concealer and it does work pretty well tho. As for not getting the drama look, I'm a fair skinned redhead so I don't do the really made up thing but they have fabulous colors of eyeshadows and blush. Everything from the darkest to lightest. Check Ebay for sellers that do samples.

I've ordered from this one before and I know there is another one that has custom sample kits where you get 10 or more samples all at once. I can't remember her store name tho. Sorry! A little goes a loooooong way so samples last plenty long enough for you to decide if you like it. HTH!

i agree with lina about bareminerals being for everyday wear.... i absolutely LOVE it, and its very easy to put on, and covers well, but i have trouble getting it to stay on for more than like 6 or 7 hours, which isnt bad, but when you're dancing, or whatever, its going to come off easier. I used to use proactiv, but i got too expensive for me... i would definitely reccommend bare minerals though...but buy it from the informercial or website, not the store, much more expensive in stores.

Love bare minerals. I use it for everyday use. Never had a problem with it clogging my pores at all. The only bare minerals product that I don't use is their blush since I don't really like the colors that they have. I have used the foundation and eyeshadow; love them both!

I may have many faults, but being wrong ain't one of them.

My ex used proactive it worked wonders!!! You said you just ordered it, beware they automatically charge your card and send you a renewal kit every month until you e-mail them to stop. Atleast that was our experience...But the product was completley worth it.

So... no one really uses the Bare Minerals for work? What DO you use for work if you don't use Bare Minerals. They are selling it here (infomercial - Guthy Renker Australia) and I have been wondering if it would be good enough to use for work.

I don't do heavy make-up anyway and don't use much foundation... therefore... I was thinking it would work for me.

I use MAC or cinema secrets since I can make it more of a porn look With Bare Minerals it comes off pretty easily. The way I sweat it would come off right after being on stage.

I use Bare Escentuals at work. I play my eyes up when I work and stay natural the rest of my face. If I play my eyes (which is usually smokey) I go for the glossy look on the lips and a tad bit of cheek color.

But, I love Bare Escentuals and agree w/ most on this forum. It's very light weight and I will never go back to liquid. Its easy, quick and very light on your face. Since I've used BE for the past 4 years, I hardly get pimples or redness on my skin. It evens it out.

As far as for dancing w/ it on? I've never had a problem w/ touch ups. I highly recommend this makeup. I've tried it and fell inlove immediately.

    Hugs XOXO

I have been using proactive for about two months maybe a lil more, because I all of a sudden started breaking out really bad ( I think it's the water). It has worked wonders, but it took a month for my skin to adjust to it, and now that my breakouts are gone, I can't use the repairing lotion, it makes me have an allergic reaction. I also like the refining mask.

Does anyone who is REALLY pale use bareminerals or bare escentuals? I have a really hard time matching my skin in the winter time. when I put powder on in the bathroom at home, it looks like it matches...when I get outside...I look a little orange or yellow. It's not even super heavy powder So frustrating.

I recently converted from MAC to Bare Minerals. In fact, I just started using it 3 weeks ago and I love it. Sephora's has a start up kit for $60 you get 2 shades, the mineral veil, warmth, a maximum coverage concealer brush, face application brush, and kabuki brush. I doubt I'll ever use studiofix again. :-)

I recently bought a mac foundation. Looked fine in the store....looks like it blends in real nice. Use the sheer setting powder. Walked outside and holy crap was I yellow! I also use N4 studiofix......looks great inside...outside, not so much. If I've been tanning, the colors look great but if I haven't my makeup looks like crap.

I'm SO tempted to go to Sephora right now and look at the makeup....too bad it's 5 and I'm not wanting to sit in an hour of traffic just to get there!

I have been using Bare Minerals for about a year now and I love it! It really does not feel like you are wearing make-up.

I tried ProActiv for a little over a month. It didn't do any good for me. Now I just wash with Cetaphil and have been very happy with the results. I never thought I had sensitive skin, but now whenever I use anything else my skin feels tight and dry and I break out. I've been thinking about Bare Minerals for awhile now. If I ever try it I'll be sure to report back.
