    Default tan

so i was checking out the articles section and i came across the sunless tanning one. i only skimmed, but from what i read it is suggested even if you are white-white. i definitly fit that description - but the thing is, i have red hair. won't that look stupid if i have a tan? or would you suggest it anyway?

It would only look stupid if you wen and did a dark tan. I have seen some redheads just get a light body bronzing and it looks awesome on them!

with regards to Lindsay Lohan I think that is probably the darkest a natural red head with light skin and freckles should go but that's my 2 cents

try it out...if you hate it, it lasts only a week. The first application isn't usually that drastic anyway.

use the ones made for light-medium skin tones, because the darker ones will make you too orangey.

That's what I was thinking too! Darker hair if you want a darker body. If not, just lightly bronze your skin. Stay away from real tanning though because you are in the greatest category for skin cancer if you tan for real and your hair is naturally red.

That's very true.My naturally red headed friend had to get melanomas removed from her boobs. Not very a pleasant experience.

I would get an airbrush tan because then they can control how dark they make you. Also they make an effort to make the ''tan'' look natural by spraying an extra coat on the areas where the sun would naturally hit.
And they contour certain areas with can make you look instantly thinner and more toned.

I was actually gonna use Lindsay Lohan as a BAD example of redhead with tan.

I guess the Neutrogena "Build-A-Tan" stuff would be good, since you can start off with a little color and build if you want more.

Is it just me or does her head look WAY to big for her body in that pic. She looks like a ''little person'' lol.

I'm naturally a red head, But I dye my hair blonde. Now, I've been using sunless tanners (Both mystic and store bought) since I was about 13 years old. Let me tell you, They work wonders. For red heads, I strongly recomend the mystic, Because it gives a nice golden bronze with no orange.. And most booths have a bronzer added into the spray on solution so that a pale individual (like myself, without the tanning) can see what they are doing when they go to whipe down. Mystic is also very expensive to maintain though. There is a sunless tanner that is on infomercials that is sold at most Sall'ys beauty supply stores in indivudual bottles (if bought from tv it's a kit with bullcrap that one doesn't need and costs a lot more) called tan perfect. I starte dusing it when I was 13-14 years of age, When I stioll had my natural hair colour. It always worked well.. Just NEVER go more than one coating every two days. And the nifty thing is, Sally's also carries a lot of bronze toned lotions that compliment the tan very well.

Fake tanning means no UVA (I get sun posioning everytime I do a real tan), Better advantage as to what your colour looks like, No expensive tanning bed memberships (5-10 bucks a bottle vs thirty for a month of a bed).. Andd... It always makes you look like you've had several GOOD tanning sessions.. Tans are slimming and make one appear to be very healthy and often athletic (if slimmer or average and applied in the proper manner)..

Red heads with tans are SPICEY. You get to take advantage of hot bronzer blushes and gold shimmer powder.. It's the pooh

    Good luck!

How about keeping your natural pallor? That's pretty, too. But if you must do a sunless tan, and be sure it comes in a bottle , the light bronze would be super pretty.

Try doing mystic at level 1 first. If it doesnt look right there are tactics you can use to lmake your tan not last as long. i.e. use oil based moisturizers, exfoliate.
