Default Free E-filing of taxes available on irs.gov

Looks like the IRS will be offering free e-filing of taxes this year for everyone, you just need to do it through their website (www.irs.gov) and from there link into TurboTax, eSmartTax, or TaxACT. Just make sure you don't go directly into TurboTax, eSmartTax, or TaxACT webpages as you may incurr a fee that way (TurboTax charges $19.94, TaxAct $7.95, not sure on eSmartTax).

hey Dick, do you have any stats on the probability of being audited with e-filing versus the probability of being audited after filing 1/4" of paper tax forms which provide agents with all of the info they might choose to review ?

No I don't have any stats, but 'supposedly' you are at no greater risk of an audit by e-filing versus paper filing.
