Default I live in Seattle, can I dance in Vancouver?

Hello all. I'm back. I'm thinking about dancing again, but as Seattle is an eternally sucky city for us strippers, I was wondering what y'all thought about Vancouver, BC. Are there good clubs there where I could work? Would it be worth commuting (like a long weekend here and there.)? What are the laws on USA-ers dancing in Canada? Anyone out there with advice, please help. If not Vancouver, where would you suggest I go?

You CAN work weekends only, but your choice of clubs will be somewhat limited (as many of them only book dancers for the full week). Your choices are:

*Paramount ( www.paramountgirls.com ) - I've never been here- it's a juice bar, and is where most girls start out. It's medium contact, income potential ?

*Penthouse ( www.strippernet.com/penthouse.htm ) - best money potential but you won't book you there until you're 'known'. You'll pay $25/night to work there. Air dances

*Mugs & Jugs ( www.strippernet.com/mugs.htm ) - second best money potential. It's a blue collar bar, pretty hit & miss, but I do well there. You'll get paid $30 to work there. Air dances

*Uranus Lounge ( www.strippernet.com/uranus.htm ) - I think this place is a shithole, but have to admit that I usually make OK money when i work here on weekend nights. You'll be paid $30 to work here. Air dances

*Brandis. Infamous, Bennifer breaking-up place. I've never been here- everyone I've known who ever worked here left pretty quickly, it's got this aura of drama around it that I'm not interested in. Air dances

*Tbarz ( www.tbarz.com )- I haven't worked here in ages, as it's far away and in the worst part of town. It's got a young clientele, medium income potential

    * No5 Orange. This place is known for it's 'full-service' private dances. The girls that work here seem to make a lot of money though. <eye roll>

So there you go! I wouldn't count on making much more than $300-$400 on agiven night, but if you're happy with that then it can't hurt to try!

check out www.nakedtruth.ca/forum for more info (club reviews etc). My suggestion if you want to work up here is to call Randy at strippernet (604) 517-4434 and ask to be put in an amateur contest- that will be your audition. Tell him you'd like to do weekend VIP shifts and see what he offers you.

Being American shouldn't be a problem

    Scarlette --

Ditto what Suzie said. The clubs here suck SOOOOO bad. If this was anything like Phoenix, I'd be dancing again, but it's terrible here.

Thanx for all the info on Vancouver clubs. My hunnie and I go to Vancouver a couple of times a year but we've never set foot in a club there. You're working Mugs & Jugs? Mind if we drop by some night???

So what your saying is, if one were to book for at least a week then there would be more choices? and about Penthouse, what do you mean you can't get booked there until you're known? Thanks for the info!

Yeah, if you want to do stage (Monday-Saturday) there are a good 10+ clubs to choose from in the greater Vancouver area, and you can get booked all around BC too for a week at a time (out-of-town gigs normally pay a bit more). I do that every once in awhile for vacation- they give you a hotel room and everything.

Regarding the Penthouse, I mean that being run by agents, the clubs don't book you directly. So you usually have to be known by the agents before they put you in the better money spots (like the Penthouse). Then again, I could be dead wrong, they might very well put you there your first week. Just from what I've seen they don't usually put new faces there.

    Hope that helps!

    Check out www.strippernet.com.

I also forgot the cecil ( www.cecil.ca ), which is a really popular club. The VIP dancers there seem to do well. They book VIP dancers outside of an agency.

The first question is can US citizens dance in Canada w/o a work permit? I heard that you had to have one to work in CA. Also keep in mind that US dollars are worth a lot more than Canadian dollars, so keep that in mind when you come back home and exchange your money. At today's exchange rate, if you earn $1000 Canadian it is only worth $816 USD.

Hey Suzielightning, have you tried working in Portland? House fees here are really low, I think the most expensive club is $25 house plus tip outs to DJs and bouncers. There are plenty of clubs to pick from, so you should probably be able to find one that suits your style. The dances are air dances (by law), and the club takes the hit if the girls get too touchy feely, so they are pretty strict about following the rules here. Of course it is hit or miss with the amount of business we get in this area. I haven't gone home with less then $150 for a long time, even on totally dead nights. But you won't be pulling down more then $500 a night on a regular basis in Oregon, maybe once or twice a week, and getting closer ot the $1000 mark maybe once or twice a month for a good hustler w/ a lot of regulars.

You also might try Spokane area. There are three clubs in that area. Deja Vu, Stateline Showgirls, and The Torch Lounge. I haven't worked at any of these clubs but have met a lot of girls who do on a regular basis. From what I hear Stateline Showgirls is likely to be the best money. I know nothing about Deja Vu. The Torch Lounge looks like a fun place to work, it is a bikini bar, but the girls seem really nice, and I guess there is a lot of money in that area, but maybe the girls just don't know how to hustle?? who knows.

If you want to travel a little further, Montana has some really fun clubs. The money is pretty easy to make in Missoula, but house fees and tip outs are pretty steep. I think I pay close to 30% of all my earnings in house and tip outs. Bozeman has a couple of clubs in the area, and they should be just jumping this time of year. Especially considering that the west coast ski areas are closed or almost closed. House fees in Bozeman are pretty low, as are tip outs.

And my last suggestion to you is how about being a party dancer? I use an agency out of Seattle down here in Oregon, and I've not had a bad party with them yet. You can find them at http://www.westrip.com

But I know that party dancing isn't for everyone, so that is why I mentioned it last.

I hope you find a happy stripper home soon

    XOXO ParisLove
