    Default Height and weight question

I'm 5'4" (without the shoes) and a size 8, but I have very low body fat. I have no cellulite, no stretch marks. Still, should I try losing 10 pounds before I audition? (There is a possibility that my breast implants added to my weight, but I don't know for sure.)

    Thanks for your advice!

what is your weight, body fat % , and maybe a picture would give us a better idea.

I may have many faults, but being wrong ain't one of them.

The most important thing is that you feel comfortable the way you are. Size has less to do with dancing than most people think.

Are you sure its really 10 pounds you need to loose since you have low body fat? Maybe you just are feeling bloated...just don't have really salty things. When you audition?

IF you can, put a picture up for us to see. size 8 looks different on so many women. When I was a size 8, I weighed about 130 pounds, but I'm under 5'4". I know a woman that is 5'6 and is a size 8, and it looks "thick" on her, but it definitely fits her build (she also has implants to "proportion her").

My nutritionist said it's safe for me to lose, at most, 10 pounds, but nobody thinks I should worry about it. I do get many compliments on my body, but I don't know if it's good enough for a club. I went to OG and Sapphire while visiting Las Vegas and I think I'm within their standard, but I'll be working in San Francisco (hopefully!). I'm planning on trying to get auditions in about 2 weeks.

I'm trying to upload a photo of myself using the "Manage Attachments" button but it's not working. Any hints?

Cant help with the picture, but I bet you look proportional enough to be a dancer. You should be just fine.

I put two pictures of myself up on http://www.writingaide.com. If you click the "Home" link, the photos seem to enlarge.

Sorry to make you check the link, but I couldn't get the photos to upload on my reply message.

Please let me know if I should continue my quest to strip! Thanx!

i think you look great and healthy, If you're not comfortable, lose the 10 pounds, But I wouldn't worry about it. Once you start dancing you'll be burning calories like mad, and might be surprised that you lose the inches quickly......BUT YOU LOOK GREAT right now!

Hun you are have a nice look going for ya!! Very cute I think. As far as your bod....do some toning and youll be fine. Besides when you start dancing your body will firm up nicely. I dont say this to be mean but helpful instead. You look great and dont need to loose wieght. Eat well when you are at work....skip all that icky fast food. All before you know it even without working out youll feel great in no time. Strippers do alot of bending, squating, twirling, walking, pole tricks etc...those alone will tone alot to any body type.

You're fine... like TM said you'll end up toning up from dancing. Wish you luck!!!

Thanks to all of you for your advice. TigersMilk, I am taking your advice about toning to heart--I just got a pole installed in my house, and am also working with a personal trainer. I'll ask her to step it up as far as toning goes!

Ignore your nutriotionist- you look great and well proportioned. Honestly, if you lost 10lbs you would look worse, in my opinion.

If you're planning on working in San Francisco, you should be aware of two things:
    1) You'll feel 100x better about your build as most of your competition will be size 8 to 13. You have an exotic look to you in the form of racial mix, so you'll do extremely well here!

    2) Don't let the auditioning process get to you- I know of very few dancers that were hired from one audition, and often had to auditon 3-5 times in order to get hired. Persistance is key and it's this way for ALL women wishing to dance in SF. It has NOTHING to do with you, just a capped/limited hiring model at many SF clubs.
It doesn't matter if you're somebody in this world, it rather matters you mean the whole world to somebody.

You look good. The curves suit you. Your waist is small. Very attractive. Your hair is pretty too. Your boobs fit your body. You look healthy and athletic, like Jennifer Lopez.

You have nothing to worry about. You're a toned hard body. I can understand how you may be hard on yourself..we always THINK we can be better. But you look good and you're ready to audition now. Good luck..and you're pretty too. Nice silky hair

Honey it's all about body proportion. I'm five feet all and 118lbs and a size 4, But it all fits with my overall build. Trust me, If you're most muscular than body fat/body fat is low.. You can't be that bad off. If you're body fat is low and you want to drop ten, You might lose the boobies! That's always what goes first on me....

I say pilates and some aerobics if you REALLY want to lose some. Weight training will only add temp muscle weight. Though, Muscle eats fat, It isn't as instantanous as aerobics are. A high cardio workout always does a body good.
