Default Does this sound normal to you?

    The club's house fees?

    $25-40 lease fee

$25 promotional lap dance (you must sell two) = $50, even if you don't you still owe $50 in addition to the lease fee

$8 for every $30 couch dance (which is only song only)

    $5 valet

    Tip DJ

Also: $50 if you leave early

I owed $131 yesterday. Does this sound normal to you?

    it depends...

how much did you leave with? I think if you are happy with what you are leaving with, then the fees are moot.

I mean, there are clubs where you pay no fees and walk out with $100-200. There are clubs where you pay $100 in fees and will walk out with $300-400. What's better?

I agree with Emily, if your making alot that's not bad. It also depends on the type of club too I think. If it's a smalltown beer joint than yes that's too much.

Everything seems normal except the house fee of $25-$40...

I only pay $10 for house... but then again my club is known for having one of the lowest tip-outs...

I think that is way too much
my club has 40.00 stage fee if you are not on schedule
10.00 stage fee if you are schedule one day a week
tipping the dj/bouncer is not mandatory
    which is awesome!

I've worked in a club where house was $7-$14 and I averaged $250 for an 8 hour shift.

I've worked in a club where there was ZERO house fee AND shift pay and I made $400 a shift.

My previous club the fee structure changed constantly because it was a Deja Vu club, but I made $500-$700 fairly steadily.

My current club has fees that average $200 each night, and I've made anywhere from $180-$2,500.

It's all relative. The first club with the least money also had the least bullshit in terms of scheduling, club drama and management drama, but the money sucked.

My current club I'm treated well by managent, but there's a lot of competition, so it can get stressful.

If you paid out $131 but were still satisfied with your take-home, that's all you need to worry about. Unfortunately, there does seem to be a direct link between what you tip-out and how much you'll take home.

NinaDaisy is right; the higher house fees are almost without exception merely the dues paid to increase your nightly take home. It's annoying but well worth it in the long run. January last year sucked but the $1900 I paid in fees is nothing when you realize that every other club in town had lower fees but no one at those clubs was taking home enough money to make a living, let alone afford nearly $2k in house fees.

I have no idea if it is normal or not.

But the phrase "you have to spend money to make money" is very often true.

Let me guess...you work at one of the many clubs in SF run by Deja Vu?

What's up with the "Promotional" Lap Dances? I'm fairly new, but I've been going to clubs for a while and know a lot of dancers, and this practice is news to me. The rest of the fees are pretty close to what I pay, but I'm curious to find out what your managements provides as justification for these promotional lap dance fees.

As was said by several others what you pay to work is relative to what you bring home AFTER tip outs.

There are a lot of variables to consider when assessing house and club fees.

How much did you make AFTER you paid the $131 in fees. (How many $30 dances did you sell, did you sell both 2/1's, did you arrive at work early enough to pay the lower house fee or did you pay the higher amounts?)

Does the DJ help you sell the 2/1 dances and push the guys hard to buy them?

Are guys accustomed to buying dances in your club and does the DJ constantly announce them, or do dances require a lot of persuasion to sell?

Personally I think the fee structure is geared to force all dancers to make a concerted effort to approach every guy for the 2/1 special as SOME dancers are lazy, or cop an attitude when the club runs promo dances, and the club is taking monetary advantage of the fact that some girls want to leave early every night. The $50 fee is probably geared to the girls who are leaving to "hook up" with a customer, and to make sure that a maximum amount of dancers are working at any given time, especially when it is slow.

I'm certain that the Gold Club is Dejavu because they hired me there and I didn't take the offer because I didn't want to deal with their long-ass corpopaperwork again. Plus, its on the DejaVu site: http://main.dejavu.com/c.asp?c=7253

That sounds about normal for a nude club where the stage fee is usually higher, but if you're dancing topless that's kinda steep.

From what I've seen, the house fees really vary from city to city. I've paid anywhere from $15 to $150 after tip outs and stage fees. I would suggest checking around with other clubs in the area to see if their fees are similar. I've heard of everything except for the fee to leave early...
