    Default No money?

I have a bit of a situation and I'm not sure what to do. I started dancing about two weeks ago. I felt insecure so I started at a small place in a little town that is over an hour drive away. There are plenty of places in the city I live in, but the competition seems pretty cut throat and at this place everything is laid back with little pressure.

The good news is, I feel comfortable and I'm enjoying it. The bad news is, there is absolutely no money. Seriously. They have me on the day shift and during the week sometimes only 4 or 5 customers will come in during 8 hours with 6 or 8 girls on shift. You can stay longer, but at night you have maybe 10 to 20 with 10 to 12 girls on shift. There's plenty of time to practice on stage. Also, there are no lap dances but it's full nude.

Obviously I'm going to bail and try a different club but should I leave now? Another thing, this place has absolutely no house fees so I can never owe them money but they take nearly half of what I make. Should I stay to practice my stage and get more comfortable before going to a larger place (one place closer has nearly 80 girls on shift a night) or should I leave now so I can try to make money?

Run don't walk to the nearest club. I started at a club that is KNOWN for the girls having awesome awesome stage shows. I felt intimidated to say the very least. But I made BANK and learned very quickly how to put on a good stage show and compete with the rest of the girls. You say you enjoy dancing so what are you waiting for? Get out there and make some money. It will do you good to get out and experience different clubs and you will be glad you left when you realize the earning potential you really do have.

Personally I would "shop around" and look for a new club. I usually go in as a customer to potential clubs to get a feel for the girls, the place, etc. As far as you leaving now....if you are not making money, I wouldn't stay. I am confused however, why the club is taking nearly half of what you make if there are no fees....

well, wait a sec...you are new....it might take awhile

if other girls are making money, then you need to learn some hustling skills. It might be the club, or the shift. Will they let you work just night shift?

I say leave. If there's only 5 or 6 customers coming in, your not going to get the chance to practice your hustling skills (and thats where the moola is at). l

I say leave... because the more customers the more you can watch other dancers work it and the more you can learn. And the more ppl you can try your game on.

    Update -

I've decided to leave and I'm currently looking around for a different club. I've gone to two and I really disliked them (beyond dirty) but there are 3 more in the area that I will try to get to by the weekend.

Emily - As far as I know, only two there are making anything and both of them have been at this place for over two years and make their money off of their regulars. Everyone else isn't making money either, as far as I know. I've stayed until close a few times and there are more customers in, but even then most of the dancers are not making much.

Working in a club where the amount of customers straggling in is less than the amount of girls working, you are destined for failure.

Guys don't really spend money when a club is so slow that there is no momentum. They don't want to be the only ones buying dances.

I would look for clubs with steady foot traffic and high volume. Money tends to flow better in a busy environment. Find clubs where girls are steadily approaching the customers for dances and where during every song at peak hours dances are being done. You'll have an easier time making money in clubs that are somewhat busy and where guys feel obligated to tip and buy dances because others around them are doing so.

The club you were hired in seems to be a death sentence. You won't last in this business much longer continuing to work in those conditions.

You may have discovered that you're living and working in an area where the 'product' that some dancers are selling includes providing customers substantially more than just private dances. In point of fact there are now just some cities where, no matter how beautiful or talented a dancer is, she simply can't earn a decent living competing with other dancers who provide 'extras' on a regular basis for customers who have come to expect high mileage in exchange for their money.
