    Default Anyone watch American Hotrod?

Just saw the most recent airing of the show and was wondering what everyones take on it was.

Personally, I thought that Boyd was acting like a complete ASS grilling Charlie like he did. It also amazed me at how he wouldn't even close his mouth for 1 minute to listen to what Charlie was saying. He didn't seem to care that Charlie was breaking his back for the guy, just was pissed that he was going to work for Chip Foose.

I tell ya what, I lost all respect seeing Boyd in that light. When you have to fire a loud mouth kid, that helps your company. But when you fire your most dedicated and respected person because you can't see at how you are overworking them day in and day out, then you are destend to fail.

Does anyone know what this bad blood is between Boyd and Chip? Boyd has it made to sound that Chip has always been trying to gun him down, but now...I don't even know if you can believe what a word that Boyd says.

I have been watching it here and there. It is an excellent case study of how to fuck your company.

Sometimes you put up with the loudmouths because they are more valuable than a detriment.

I agree with the shitcanning of that fat fucker who was messing with the new guy - blueberry or something like that. That guy was a detriment to the shop. You don't go around calling people sheep fuckers and pushing buttons like that. That was a fair shit canning.

I think the project manager is a dick head too. I was watching an episode with my younger cousin, and I told him - see that guy? He's a dickhead. He doesn't know shit about project management or how to manage people.

Boyd - he seems more intent on "respect" than getting anything done. Like I said, sometimes you just hold your words until someone becomes more of a liability than an asset. He is so wound up with his personal "respect" that he is unwilling to sacrifice for the company like some of the other guys are doing.

I told my cousin, you watch - people will start bailing the fuck outta there. Sure enough - that one dude is like packing his tools into a U-Haul and heading to Hawaii.

You can't be doing shit like that, else you get rid of the good with the bad.

I think that your exactly right.

Duane, the project manager, needs to have some special help. I don't know ANY business that you can treat your people like that. Yes....90% of the time he is doing it to joke around or to show people "don't mess with me"....but there is a fine line.

They said on the show last night that one of the paint guys was probably going to leave with Charlie also. Which is probably about right. You take the heart and soul out of a company, it will go to the crapper. They will soon learn that they don't have to put up the crappy deadlines that Boyd puts them under, and they can work for people that will give them something they don't have....a life outside of work!

    Oh yea...the fat kid...."Bluebear". I agree....he was a total dipshit.

I also agree that Boyd thinks that he is 'king shit'. Ok....you might think that you are. But if you do....come down off of our perch and get dirty and do some real work. Don't keep telling your employees that they have to work a 7 day week because you can tell your customers that this WILL be the date the car will be ready.

I agree with all said here they really dont know how to manage people there really is no teamwork . What is really bad is that there is so much talent and becuase it is miss managed you cant see what they could really do as a team working together . Too much whinning I would probably get rid of half the people there and start over , Charlie would run the place he is good with people .
