Anyone going to work the races this year? Any Indianapolis dancers care to comment?

I was thinking about it, since I'm only a couple of hours from Indy. I'd certainly be interested in know where the fun clubs are now.

Which Indy are we referring? C.A.R.T or I.R.L ? It does make a difference. The IRL (Indy Racing League) is the more popular and bigger money race. CART (forgotten what it stands for) was the original "league" and is now smaller and not so "big". Unfortunately for me, the Gold Coast gets the CART one. I've heard we may not have it for too much longer which WILL hurt the Gold Coast as it (besides Christmas) is really the only time of year to count on for good money.
This was a little off-topic however I thought I would pop in. The question still stands.

I think the Grand Prix is more profitable... anyway it's so far off. May as well as ask who's working
Sturgis.
I wish I could go to Australia!! As for us stateside girls, there are a few races held in Indianapolis, Indiana in springtime...the 500 being the largest. My friend in Indy tells me to hit Babes (there are two clubs, East and West) which are close to the speedway. I was warned the Classy Chassy is a "redneck bar."
Edit: I keep hearing about girls losing money on Sturgis......sounds like a rowdy event too.

Goodness, it is quite a ways away. May 29th. Then the US Grand Prix on June 19th, and the Brickyard 400 on Aug 7. Gives you plenty of time to plan.
And if it's a redneck bar--who do you think comes to the Indy 500? As long as they're there to have a good time, you know.
Babes east is farther away from the race. Anyway, both Babes have high tip outs and
are relatively small clubs.
I thought of Classy Chassy as more of a trucker place and did very well there. You have
to put up with the lady manager though. In any case, the closest club to the track is
a complete DIVE (building was once an IHOP) right next to the track called Wild Cherry's.
You can usually work there for $100 (up front) a day... no other tip out. The other real
close by places are not worth mentioning until you get to Brad's Gold Club. Diamonds
is another nearby dive. Babes west is close to these as is Club Rio. Downtown you have
The Red Garter and near the airport is Dancers. There are several others farther away like
Brad's Brass Flamingo, etc. By Babes east is PT's and Harem House. Don't bother with
any other place not mentioned here. There is definitely money to be made, but the
Grand Prix and Brickyard attract more money than the 500. From Thursday until
even after the races on Sunday you can do well, peaking out anywhere from $500 to
$1500 a day (depending on your energy and hustle and connecting with high rollers
and avoiding the punks).
[Sturgis in SD started requiring licenses (pretty easy to obtain but
still a hassle) in the actual city limits, Rapid City has no licenses (unless they just started
that) but had strict rules (unless they got rid of those) and then there are some other
towns around. Sturgis events last mainly a week starting to slow down the Thursday
before the end. So if you get there by Saturday then you can work 6 solid days for
maybe $500 up to $1000 a day. Advance planning is needed to get a place to stay,
since it is difficult to get ready for work at a campground.
Sturgis traffic affects a very wide area because events and camp grounds
are spread out. Of course there are other biker events elsewhere too.]
Indy race money is mostly confined to areas of the city that are
nearest the track. Sure, Babes east may get some business, but it is really too far away.
A problem with the Indy races is traffic (and parking) so it's best to stay as close to
where you'll work as possible if possible so you don't wast time in traffic jams.
Of course, you don't want to pay too much: even the Super 8's and Motel 6's charge
$100+ per room per night during race time. The farther away you go the more ordinary
rate you'll get. If I still have my place maybe I'll let some of you stay here, but the
drive in to work might take a couple hours.
What other events are worth traveling to this summer? What's the
profit potential and considerations like lodging/tip outs?

Dancers or PT's. Chassy is located at a truck stop right next to many, many hotels and close to the airport, so traffic is probably good there. Babes is known to be a dump. Same with Brad's. Brad's used to rock in the 90's but both went waaaaay downhill. They're ghetto. $10 dances. Pffft.

Grand Prix here in Australia (Melbourne - the first one for the F1 season) is hit or miss. From the reports I received .... mainly the girls who have regulars for that event or foreigners (those with an accent other than australian or kiwi) make the money.

I'm hanging out in Indianapolis right now, and I have to say I drove by a couple places (Babes West, Brad's Gold Club, Club Venus (or something), and another one and out of all of them Brads Gold Club looked decently busy for a Tuesday Night. Babes really didn't look like it was getting that much business. I'm going to head out and audition at one or two today, maybe even check out the ones near the airport.
I just wanted to bump this thread because I wanted to comment on how much I like this city. Maybe it's just because I've been in Ohio too long, or it's been too long since I visited a bigger city, but Indianapolis seems pretty cool. I'm considering making this an extended vacation (i.e. not go home until after the race ends), but I'm not sure if I want to lose my 'day job' or not.
oh, I saw a sign on a Budget Inn (I think that was the one) that charged a weekly rate of $125.00+deposite+tax, and then under it it said 3 Week Min. If I got that today, that would mean I had a great weekly rate for the race week.... Other motels around here (right now) start at $35.00 (motel 6), and another 'extended stay' hotel was priced at 159.00 on the sign. But it advertised High Speed Internet in addition to Kitchenettes and other ammenities. Of course, just go to travelocity.com or Triple-A and get all the info you need.
Indy dancer here. I would never, ever work anywhere but Dancers West. The management and DJs are super cool. House fee is $10. Tip 10% to the DJ (be honest!) and 5% to the bar. Tip the doormen because no one does, and they are really helpful.
As for the dancers, some are well-bred entertainers and some aren't. If you have a nice face and decent body, you're hired. Hell, you'd raise the bar! (Please do.)
The interior is very nice, brand new too! VIP area mucho comfortable. I wish they had pictures up on the website.
It is the best club from a dancer's point of view. You set your own rates. Everyone seems to go for the $20/dance. No champagne
My earnings double whenever there is a rich man convention. I have yet to work a racing season but I expect to get at least $800/shift.
Do not, I repeat, do not go to Rio, Babes, Brad's or any other club on Lafayette St. It is the ghetto and there was a shooting at Rio last month. Besides, Brad's has $10 dances and you will have to grind to get it.
Call them rednecks. I think they are great! When a powersport convention was in town, I was consistently tipped $50-100 per customer. I am not lying. Customers with old school values and a good amount of disposable income are looking for that very special stripper. *And* they tend to be polite and respectful. They all love their wives and daughters and won't offer you $50 for a BJ. They just want to have fun.Originally Posted by Susan Wayward

Believe me, when I call them rednecks, I do so with great love.

I won't bother to refute some of the misinformation above (more money for me)... but as for hotels... the signs that now say $35/night or $125/week (Motel 6 or Super 8 type) will become $100 or $150 per night during race time.... so book right away! Some of the best located are ones that are far below fancy, but cheap means low over head. If you get something for $55 a night (plus visitor and sales tax) you are doing great. If you can drive a little, try 30 miles or more out of town to keep costs down. Coming from out of town just for the races you may have trouble getting a job at some clubs. You may have to pay $100 up front to work on the days before the races.
I've never worked in any of the clubs in Indy, but I've been to just about all of them. (Never been to Sunset Strip, SilkNLace, or Wild Cherry cause I was told they were scary run down places) And I have to say that I had more fun at Dancer's West than any other bar there. It's by far the nicest looking club in Indy I think and I love the layout of the club. If I ever do work in Indy that will be the only place I'll work.
Sorry to butt in, however, you might try the Classy Chassy. They have a perfect location that's close to downtown, 10 minutes from the airport, and most importantly, just mere minutes from Indy's ever-popular southside. The girls are beautiful and they have a VIP room. It's $20 for a private dance, but through the week they have an "all skate" which is two dances (songs) for $20. It's a huge club (VERY) roomy. I am not a dancer, so I hope you don't mind me posting here, but I have been to a few others and this one is by FAR my favorite! Check it out and let me know what you think!!! Good luck, ladies!![]()
