    Default Travel and security

I haven't flown in over 2 years, and was wondering....how has security changed? If one wanted to transport things that security wouldn't like to see (swiss army knife for my job, recreational products, etc.)...how would we do it? I'm thinking deep in checked luggage, maybe packed in a coffee can but I'm not sure.

None of these items are dangerous in any way (neither am I), but they're things I do want to have along and am pretty sure airport security won't want to find them.

    Any ideas are appreciated.

    Just a thought.

If you "hide"something, like in a coffe can as you suggested, what if they DO find it??

How are you going to explain the fact that you intentionally tried to smuggle contraban onto an aircraft.
    Isnt that a federal offense??
    Why take a risk??

Why not get to where your going, then have the stuff you want shipped to you,you can even get it overnight in most cases.Im guessing to ship a swiss army knife would cost you about 5 bucks anywhere in the country.

Im guessing your beautiful because your a dancer, beautiful females draw attention to minimum waged security guards in airports.Maybe enough so they want to chit chat.Maybe they will use the bag check to buy time,so they will check top to bottom just to spend more time with ya.
    Can you see the headlines???
    STRIPPER SMUGGLES KNIFE ON PLANE!!!!!

Be safe, cover your ass, spend the 5 bucks to have it shipped,or leave it at home.

If you have a swiss army knife, all you haver to do is check your luggage.

As for recreational products, I don't know. Personally, I think BigGreen is right and it isn't worth the trouble.

I wouldn't take the risk, If they find it......You are seriously screwed.

MNM's statement is correct, and kind of funny. I find that the more 'beautiful' you are the more they are interested in what you're carrying inside of your luggage.

They just want to know what kind of underwear you wear.

I work airport security. You can pack a Swiss Army Knife in your luggage. You don't have to put it in a coffe can... unless you want your clothes to smell like cofee. mmmmm... french vanilla...ahhh You can even take a ninja sword if you want to. Just don't walk up to the check security check point with it looking like the chick on Kill Bill!

If you have any doubts of what you can and can't take check out this page:

I would be too paranoid to take contraband with me. BUT, my brother did smuggle some KB in a box of Tobblerone and put it in MY suitcase a few years ago coming from Amsterdam to Houston. Boy was I fucking mad, but I'm glad I didn't know otherwise I would have been a nervous wreck............

    Hmmm...
Ma'am I'm going to have to ask you to empty your luggage on this table. Mmmhmm... just like I suspected. I'm going to have to confiscate your thong.

I get special loving from airport security, due to my travels. Just for your sake, in your CHECKED luggage, wrap the Swiss Army Knife loosely in clothing or a cosmetics case- if it is seen, it will not appear as if you are up to anything shady. You have a right to possess self-defense items, as long as they do not go in the plane cabin with you.

Oh, I always have mace and a tazer in my checked luggage. So far my bags have been searched almost every time and both are still there!
