Default How do you feel about your scars?

I know this topic has been covered somewhat in other posts. Basically I know people have scars from surgery or they have stretch marks. When I scar (because of latin heritage) I get dark little scars, some on my back or back of my legs. Eventually after a year or so they go away (they lighten up). Anyway, I use cover up to hide them and even though I can't see what I look like in the dark light on the stage...I feel a little insecure sometimes when I see girls with flawless~scarless skin. So does anyone cover up thier scars and pretty much know that in the dark light and on stage they cannot be seen? Has a another dancer watched you on stage and told you that they cannot see any scars? I'm PMS-ing and I'm having an insecure moment. But I just want to know if anyone deals with this? Thanks Girls! Love ya!!!!!

I have a scar in the crease of my thigh where the really soft skin is from where the dr. took a skin graft when I was in a car wreck a few years back. I don't cover it up because if i tried the makeup would get all over my thongs, but not too many people notice. Sometimes I have a customer ask me about it, and i tell 'em what its from. I figure it adds character. Plus I have a small skin graft on the above the outer edge of my right eyebrow. most people do not notice this, because of my hair, but i don't cover that up either. But with the lighting in most clubs, scars would be pretty hard to see. that is unless you are looking for it, which most arent.

I'm proud of all my scars! I have little scars on my face that I cover with pancake make-up/ shimmer powder at work. My hands are all scarred up too, but I wear neutral nailpolish (gotta downplay the mitts, I have my dad's hands LOL!)
It's just like most pimples are more noticable to the person with the blemish....same with scars.
In case you really want to cover up something, Dermablend is sold in department stores. Spray hairspray lightly over the Dermablend to set it. See, no more scar!

When I first started dancing I would cover the scars on my breasts with makeup, all the veteran dancers would tell me I was crazy because you couldn't see them on stage anyway. I eventually realized they were right and was fine for a long time, then that Sally Hansen airbrush leg stuff came out last year and I use it sometimes on my thighs (to cover stretch marks) and stomach to make the skin look smoother. I wouldn't even care so much if they didn't use colored lights on the main stage at my club, (Red lights on olive skin can be a nightmare!)
