    Default fixing rippling in saline?

I was just wondering how you fix rippling in breast implants and what causes it? Like if the implant "shifts"? or?

I saw a girl at work with it, and im scared!

I would think they would need to be removed, I don't think it could be fixed any other way. I'm not sure what causes it, maybe the implant being under-inflated??

I worked with a girl who was about 5' feet tall 90 pounds with a very small frame . Her implants were way to big for her and the rippling was VERY obvious on the sides. Not a pretty site.

Another friend of mine replaced her salines with silicone because of the rippling and her boobs look awsome now. They feel real too, her old one's were more hard and fake looking.

Still I have seen some really good saline implants and out of all the boobs I have seen only a few looked really bad

Rippling is caused by the fluid beginning to leak out. They need to be replaced when this happens.

Rippling happens with all saline implants. It has nothing to do with the implant leaking. I know some girls that just got implants and have rippling. My doctor showed me how all implants will ripple and the only way to avoid this is by going with silicone.

Elle, were yours overfilled? Some girls get them overfilled to prevent rippling. Mine are 350 CC implants filled to 350.....some people have there's filled over the set amount but I didn't. I can FEEL the rippling but it's not visible. I guess I have thicker skin.

rippling can be caused by many things such as, implant placement (over or under the muscle) , type of implant, how much skin tissue you have.

some doctors overfill implants to prevent rippling and high profile implant are less prone to rippling. The new type cohesive-gel implants also reduce the chance of getting rippling.

Wow this is awesome information....Im so scare of that happening to me when I get my BA. But, Im sure when I pick a good doctor that they will help me with all my questions.

I always thought it was saline leaking out or it was placed over the muscle that cause rippling. Thanks for the clearance!

Smooth implants tends to ripple less then textured implants. So you don't have to worry about that if you have smooth implants underneath the muscle. Textureds are good for women who have enough breast tissue or if they are saggy, had a baby ect....not for small tissue women(like me). I have smooths, you can see it a little bit on the cleavage & sides, but barely noticeable. In order to fix that, I would have to get them filled all the way but I don't want that bc they are already firm. And if I filled them up, they are gonna be firmer. Which I wouldn't like at all. This is why I decided to get them done in silicone for my redo. Some girls are happy with their salines, & a few aren't. But IMO, I don't think you have nothing to worry about. You were like a full C prior to your surgery, so that's enough tissue for you not to see any ripples. I was like a small B, plus I have thin skin....so for me, it's a bit noticeable. Also, since I did get them done underneath the muscle....it's less of a chance to have noticeable rippling that way.

Getting saline implants overfilled will avoid this problem.

Rippling, like everyone here has said, is common with most saline implants..to some girls , it really really bothers them..not me i say the he#$ with the rippling..i know theyre going to do it no matter what because i have 750ccs Filled to 800ccs..and I still have lots of rippling but my boobs are beautiful nevertheless. What ive found is that people are going to judge a dancer, pick her apart and scrutinze virtually every good and bad thing about her body..I usually block people out as best as I can and ignore all the rude stuff and focus on the people who do like me and say nice things....ive had my 800s for almost 7 years..and theyre still hanging in there, so to speak..and i could care less about the rippling, it only happens when im bending over anyways..I can live with it..

I have had saline implants for 6 years and have zero rippiling even when I bend over. It depends on were they are placed. Usually behind the muscle doesnt ripple as much. I saw a girl who had 850 ccs in front of the muscle and they looked really real but they rippled even without bending over they looked like scars all over up close. She said they got that way when she lost 30 pounds and her surgeon said either gain weight or we need to re do them.

I know someone who has under muscle ones and hers look great and don't ripple and she's had them a few years I think. I saw a girl upside down on a pole and hers rippled underneath and my guy friend goes "Damn, implants look funny upside down." Do they tend to ripple upside down if they don't ripple right side up?

Mine are over the muscle and there is no visible rippling. Every girl will have different results.....I'm pretty lucky Mine are also placed in the subfacial plane so they aren't the typical over the muscle implant.

Tampa, I agree with Vy....you had more tissue to begin with so you probably won't have rippling. I started with A's and was REALLY worried but so far so good and it's been over a year!

The subfascial plane is the area between the fascia and the muscle. The fascia is a really thick plastic wrap type tissue (think the plastic wrap that the supermarkets put around meat containers) that covers the muscle.

Vyanka is absolutely right Smooth implants under the muscle will greatly reduce your chances of rippling. But as it has been previously pointed out everyone is different. Overfilling your implants (ex. 375 cc in 350 cc implants will also reduce the risk of this happening even more). Everyone gets freaked out by nasty looking implants and hopes that won't happen to them. Don't worry .

Tampa, you had boobs to begin with, so you have that and muscle covering them - you'll be fine. You also don't look like you're going to lose tons of weight.

I get a slight rippling on one when I lose weight. But I am SKINNY (5'9", 117 lbs) and don't have pecs. The one will ripple if I lean way to the left, but that's a really unnatural move and I just don't do it.
