    Dancers with kids?

Hi! This question is for the dancers with children. Do your kids know what you do? Or do you tell them that you do something else? I know you should be honest with your kids but I can't see telling my 15yo son that Mom has decided to dance! Any input would be greatly appreciated!

I have a six year old and do NOT tell her what I do. IMO, that would just confuse her. She doesn't understand the concept of any of this at six. I tell her I clean houses.

lol. My daughter is too young to understand anything, but one day when she is mature enough to be told and wants to know, I will tell her.

I don't feel it's something my child will need to know. Hopefully, by the time he is old enough to understand careers and such, I will have a different path of employment. It's the same reason I don't tell my parents, it's not what I will be doing forever, so I do not want them to form a wrong opinion of me. Even though I know it's not a bad job by any means.

My son is only 2, and I hope by the time he could understand what is going on, I will have quit. i think it would be hard for a child to understand. As for a teenager, I guess it would depend on his maturity level. You would also have to worry if your son told any of his friends or if other parents found out. How long are you planning to do this? Maybe you could tell him you are just a waitress there, until he gets out of school.

Well, if your son is 15 he might almost be old enough to tell. I agree saying you waitresss or bartend there might be better, but you have to be very careful to hide the truth from him. I know that you probably don't want to hear this story but..... When I was in high school I ws friends with a girl who was 2 years younger than me, and her mom (who was in her early 30's at the time and hot as hell!!!!) was a dancer but either told her daughter (or her daughter always said) that she was a bartender there. Then one day my boyfriend (who was 19 or 20 when I graduated) went to the club where her mom worked with his friends, and saw my friends mom dancing there! He told everyone and my friend was really embarassed by it because high school kids are soooooo stupid. Just a little something for you to think about.

My daughter is 9 and didn't know until Daddy's girlfriend bad mouthed me and told her... stupid bitch! Needless to say, Daddy doesn't have a girlfriend anymore! And, my daughter, well, she and I talked and she doesn't understand what the term "Stripper" means.. so we dropped it.
