How do Nude clubs make money?

I'm curious as to how nude-non alcoholic clubs make thier money? Do they make it just from juice bar sales and admission prices? I know they make money off of the house fee's but do some clubs take a cut of your dance money too? I'm wondering how it all works?

Some take a cut of dance money. Even clubs with liquor licenses do this where I live [Most clubs take 50% of what you sell (drinks, lap dances, fantasy rooms, champagne rooms, etc etc.)].

where I dance it's topless. I pay house fee AND they take dance money. They serve inflated priced alcoholic beverages as well. SHLURP.

In Rhode Island the nude clubs have liquor licenses so it's not an issue. As far as other sates go...At 2001 in Tampa I paid a fifteen dollar cover charge on a Monday night a few years ago. Cokes where 6 or 8 bucks each (this is for about 20 cents woth of syrup, soda water and mostly ice) and there was a 2 drink minimum. In addition there was an escalating per-dance customer fee to go into any of the various private dance areas. How do they NOT make money?

The club that I go to charges a house fee, $20 entry fee, $25 for a lap dance, of which they take a good portion, Booths (V.I.P), of which they also take a good portion, hot seats, portion of that too, and $3 sodas and water. They're a byob nude place, and still manage to make a load of dough. The girls have to hustle their asses of though.

Essentially all a juice/BYOB club has to do is figure how much money they aren't getting from the average customer on account of not having a liquor license and just tack that onto the cover charge. A cover for most alcohol clubs in my state runs about $5, but at our lone BYOB establishment in Lawrence it's $15 on a weeknight. They gotta make up for those 2-3 lost drinks somehow.

I don't drink (even at alcohol clubs) but as for non-alcoholic drinks at juice/BYOB bars, I've seen everything. Some really stick it to you like $5-10 for a glass of soda/juice, some charge about the normal $2-4, some charge you a steep one time amount for a "bottomless" glass. Some BYOB clubs in fact, don't even have waitresses, just a vending machine or two.

You're probably wondering how these clubs survive alongside their alcohol serving counterparts, but in places where local/state laws on nudity, contact, and hours of operation have made running an alcohol establishment difficult, such places in fact do very well.

I notice that in SF usually your housefees are higher unless your at one of their 2 gown clubs. The reason for the house fees being lower at some topless joints (the really nice ones with a good restaurant -gown clubs-) is because they make most of their profit off of the drinks and food. I know for a fact Broadway Showgirls is like this having worked there, but still am not clear on Gold Club which is considered the other gown club (though I'm not sure iff it really is).Can anyone from the city clear me up on this one? A little off topic, I know. Just been curious...

I don't know all the rules but my local nude club charges $20.00 a person to get in and then i know the private lap dance is $40.00 but the girls have to give the club $20.00 and the rest i don't know. I would figure they keep their tips.

A lot of nude juice bars are pretty low overhead operations so they don't have to take in nearly as much to make a lot. Ones I'm familiar with don't take anything from the dancers other than a small tip-out at the end of the night. The house charges an admission fee, sells drinks and that's it. The girls get to keep nearly all their LD money and stage tips. Which is why some of the girls working in these little places make a bundle, cause they get to keep it all. These places are very different than the fancy high-overhead gentlemen's clubs. A lot of them prefer not to sell alcohol because it makes their lives simpler and keeps the rowdiness factor down.

Many nude no alcohol clubs have high cover charges. For example Mons Venus in Tampa charges $20 to every customer coming in the door both dayshift and nightshift .

this all sounds so insane.... i've never danced anywhere but portland. of course, i've been aware of the outrageous payouts in other places because i've talked to thousands of girls from all over the place..... but it never ceases to kindof irk me. we are the ones doing the work onstage and off, now i don't mind a small payout to the club for providing me the facility to make the money, but god damn, some of this sounds terrible.

There's this little hole-in-the-wall club in southern Maryland. Costs $13 to get in. Minimum one drink at $4 or so. No booze, not even BYOB. Girls range from young to old, all races, sizes and shapes, some really attractive some not (if they ever turn anyone down it's not apparent how.) Nude dancing on a small stage and runway, a small bar in the corner, maybe 20 little tables with 4 chairs each plus benches along some walls and maybe 20 chairs along the runway in the middle of the room. Open 2 pm to 2 am so girls work 2 shifts, either 2-7 or 7-2. The place is run by 3 people - the owner sits in his office watching the T V monitors or helps at the bar when busy, an older woman who has been there over 20 years tends bar and runs the place and serves as housemom, a young girl sits at the door and collects entrance fees. No bouncers, if there's any trouble they just call the cops. A juke box sits in the corner where dancers insert $1 bills to choose their music. On a typical afternoon there are 5 - 10 customers there at any one time but a lot of people are in and out, then it gradually fills up and is usually packed by 11 pm. Maybe on a typical day 150 people pass through, twice that on weekends. Say the house collects $21 per head (entrance fee plus 2 drinks) plus $720 per day on the juke box, the house is taking in about $32,000 per week. The only expense is heat, light and taxes because they don't pay anybody, the housemom and doorgirl get tipouts. Other than the tipout the girls keep anything they make from stage tips and $15 dollar laps (they have to sell 5 drinks a shift but that happens by itself for most of the girls.) This place hasn't changed in any way in at least 10 years so the investment is next to nothing. I used to think this place was run really poorly. Now that I've done the math I realize it's probably the most profitable club in the state. Plus the owner gets some fringe benefits. For example, some of the girls get lockers and some don't, and it has nothing to do with how long they've worked there. My ATF worked here - she often took home $1,000 a shift and considered $300 a bad day. She didn't have a locker though. I'd say this place is a pretty typical juice bar. I'm sure there are hundreds of such places around.
