This is really painful, but cheaper than waxing, and safer than chemical depilatories- the Remington EpiLady hair removal system. A little shaver-shaped machine that pulls the hair by the roots quickly. But it was effective!

OMG madmaxime I bought one of those things-Emjoy brand, but I can only use it on my legs and arms. Anywhere else, even underarm, hurts SOOO bad. I like the results I get on my arms, but on the legs it seems no matter how hard I exfoliate, moisturize, even apply toner, I get bumps a few days later. Like, ingrown hair bumps or something.

Does it leave your skin smooth?.. What about private sensitive places.. does everyone just shave?

I’ve heard some girls say they rub alcohol after shaving sensitive areas to avoid bumps.. Anyone have proven methods?

I use an epilator too but can't use it on my legs it hurts too badly. I use it on my bikini area mostly but I get all these red bumps that don't seem to go away and I don't understand it.

I shave everything. Except my face- I just leave that, and bleach out any dark hairs. Oh, and I pluck the eyebrow area.

I looked into laser hair removal for my upper lip and sideburns- apparently my hair is TOO LIGHT! First time I've been told that. My body hair grows in light brown/blond, and it has to be darker than that to be lasered. Poo.

There's a nifty way called "sugaring" -Middle Eastern women use a wax-like ball of honey, sugar, lemon juice, resin and Allah knows what else to roll all over their bodies to pull out hair. I saw a funny film on IFC about a group of Middle Eastern women doing beauty treatments together and the sugar ball got stuck to one of their thighs.
There's threading too, but it seems to be mostly for facial hair. Two threads wrapped together zipped around the face to pull out hair. Less painful than some other ways....

I have the Epilady and the Emjoi, and they work great on my legs; after a while, the hair stops growing back in spots. But, for the bikini line, it doesn't seem to do a thing.... what do you girls do for those "up close" dances where we must be hair free and bump free? It's painful to shave every day... any tips?

I don't do my legs and my face. But on my private parts as well as my underarm, I always do sugaring

Using deodorant immediately after shaving can help prevent bumps. There are products like bikini zone that work also, but i think deodorant works the best. Also, taking a hot bath or placing a hot wash cloth on your gina before you shower, will help to open the pores, thus making shaving easier, and helping to prevent bumps.
I should also add, deodorant glows under black lights so if you use it, when you get to work just make sure to wipe down real good with a baby wipe.

I second this method, but I have made sure my deoderant doesn't glow under black lights. (Lady speed stick)

I use Nair Wax Strips for my crotch when I can, but you do have to let it grow for awhile before you can do that. I took 3 weeks off for my nose job and let it grow. That was in december, and it is just barely growing back in now. It's wonderful not to have to shave all the time.

I've been waxing for the past six years and I must say that after a few visits it stops hurting. I can sleep though underarm and leg waxing nowadays.

It's expensive if you get it professionally done but I usually just do it myself these days so it costs only about $10 every three months (except for a brazilian, which I get done professionally).

I really wish I could get laser but it won't be as successful because my hair is really pale.

Waxing is good for the bikini line because it doesn't have to be done so often and after about 24 hours all the bumps have gone.

    1) Shaving and tweezing. I'm planning to get laser hair removal here.
    2) I give myself Brazilian waxes. On the mons and inner thighs I use a nice, sticky wax containing resin and/or beeswax, not that sissy sugaring stuff. I use Clean + Easy Roll-on Wax in Sensitive formula for that. For the lips and other fleshy areas, I use Surgi-Wax Brazilian Wax, which is nice and hard and doesn't require cloth strips. For between my butt cheeks, I use Clean + Easy Strip Wax.
    3) I use a Braun epilator on my legs. If I need them extra smooth, I shave as well. I wax sometimes if the hair is long enough.
    4) I use Clean + Easy Strip Wax.

All of these waxes can be found at Sally Beauty Supply.

I am the hairiest girl on the planet (self-proclaimed.)

1)Under arm: I shave this shit. Though my mom swears by waxing- EVERYTHING (she does sugar wax, but my hair is thick thick thick, so I use Zip Hard Wax.) For me, my shit's just so out-of-control that it's easiest for me to just shave it when I need to.

2)Private: I go and get this waxed. When I was dancing, though, we'd have rehearsals and practices like EVERYDAY, so I shaved during season. Off-seasons, though, I preferred waxing. It was smoother and lasted a little longer.

3)Legs: depilatory. it lasts a shitload longer for me than shaving and waxing would take too fucking long.

    4) Face: waxing. I use zip here, too.

All this I can do using this paste paste I order it there. It lasts for a long time. It`s a very long lasting jar. Just make sure you wear gloves when you get it out from the jar!

Laser hair removal is expensive but worth it! I pay about $190 per session for numbing cream, Brazilian, extra inner thigh area plus tip. I've tried shaving and waxing this area in the past but I have very sensitive skin and I would get razor burn. Not to mention, you have to let the hair grow out in between waxing sessions. If you do fssw, micro tears from shaving can also pose potential health risks. The downsides to laser hair removal are: the hair doesn't fall out immediately like it does with waxing (but you can shave until it all falls out), and again, it costs about 4x the cost of waxing.

For my legs and underarms, I shave but I want to switch to laser hair removal at some point.

For my face, I use threading for my eyebrows. I want to give sugaring a try for my facial hair.
