Somewhat misleading article; you can't have wage growth when the supply of labor is plentiful and productivity gains reduce the need to expand employment rolls.
This is a temporal, cyclical condition.
Idealism is fine, but as it approaches reality, the costs become prohibitive.

I am skeptical, sorry CO. I would be happier if I knew you were right, if it's any consolation, lol...
I see the American poor and middle class losing their strength steadily, and I don't anticipate it to get better soon. This could become dangerous.

Some would argue that the reason that wages for unskilled US workers is not rising is simply that minimum wage laws have vastly 'overpriced' the paychecks which must by law be paid to these workers for years versus the actual economic value of their jobs. However, with most unskilled US workers receiving gov't funded health care, gov't subsidized food, rent, utilities etc. and with the "cash value' of those gov't funded benefits rising rapidly, the OVERALL state of unskilled US workers is probably better than ever.see the American poor and middle class losing their strength steadily, and I don't anticipate it to get better soon. This could become dangerous.
I agree with you that the middle class is taking a beating. Their paychecks are not rising very quickly, they're not eligible for gov't funded benefits, and their income taxes are being raised to cover the cost of providing that gov't funded health care, food, rent, utilitiy subsidies to the "poor". The 'global economy' corporations who employ much of the middle class have also discovered that they can avoid a large share of taxes and benefit costs (not to mention environmental compliance costs etc.) by outsourcing middle class professional jobs overseas.
As to whether this is a temporary, cyclical condition or not IMHO depends in large part on whether the taxation and social spending policies enacted over the past 40 years are temporary ! There is no 'free lunch' - if the gov't keeps taxing and spending ...
